The short answer: If "there can only be one" it would be the 126600. It is the logical evolution in every sense.

For more detailed consideration, have a look-see at my pictorials:

Rolex 126600: sixth generation of the Sea Dweller
and
First Rolex: 16600 SWISS dial Sea-Dweller

But like I said, owning both (if possible) is the best option

Speaking of which, today's choice...

Thanks for the awesome pictorial!

I sold my 16600 several years ago. Bought another within three months. I'll never sell it again.

I hear you

The one I have is so nice and I have all the original kit and the sales receipt from 2002 as well

I’m really having a hard time parting with it...

So don't! Save up for the 126600 and once you have both for a year or so, you'll know which one to keep ...if not both

I have a 2005 Seadweller brought in March this year, full set and mint, love it and it gets more wrist time than my 2016 Blusey, it wears smaller than the maxi case TT Sub and just looks so classic

New to this forum, HI to ALL!

Dear ALL,

I am new to this forum and the owner of a new 126600 SD43.
I think the watch fits super nice on my wrist and I love the cyclops because it's what ROLEX wanted to achieve with the very first model but couldn't due to technical issues. Of course it's my personal opinion here.

Love the idea of a SD club!

Rgds,

K.

Congrats on the SD43 but you in the wrong owners club. Many here like the SD because of no cyclops. You could make the same argument for all references really.

I enjoy reading your reviews. Well.. Happy to report that I just added 16600 to my collection and joined the club- owing both 16600 and 126600. It’s such an honor and pleasure owning both and enjoy the evolution from the two generation. Here is my humble diver collection.

P.S. I traded SLA017 and got sellers remorse now. Hope you are still enjoying your SLA017.

Congrats!!! That's a very nice collection you've got, enjoy!

p.s. Hell yeah, I'm enjoying my SLA017 - that one's going nowhere.

Today's combo...

I missed wearing this watch, the scale and proportion is so understated. It pairs well with so many different outfits.

Keep this going...

My F SD....regular wearer

And my time capsule Z SD...never took the wrapping off....back then buying watches was still fun and they let you walk out with everything you paid for, stickers intact. Those days are over...
