Dismayed in Disneyland

Long time reader, first post. I really must tell you all about a situation I'm having with bad luck: I recieved a call this last Saturday afternoon from an AD here in Tacoma, WA. sales person called and asked me if I still wanted that SS Datona (white dial) "M" series I'd asked her about a week prior. I was, for a moment elated, problem was I was standing in the middle of disneyland with my family and would not be back in town until Monday. She was very persistant (helpfull?) and said I could give her my cc# but it was to be considered a purchase, I mentioned I must see/inspect it before I commit for buying. Of course she reminded me that it would be gone by the end of the weekend and really needed a commitment, I had to pass...depressed! This just adds to my bad luck it would seem, 1 month prior I was at DisneyWorld, Fl. with my other daughter and family and got the same call from the same lady who asked if I wanted a milgaus (black dial) and I had to turn her down, I almost want to cry...

OR!! should I call her tomorrow and buy it anyways, unseen?

Currently a proud owner of a D-TT-sub/date

Just buy it what's there to inspect, it's brand new isn't it and I would very mutch doubt that if there was something wrong it couldn't be solved with the ad. I can't imagine you could loose with a SS Daytona asuming they sell it at list.

I suggest you cut down on your monthly trips to Disney, then you may be at home to get the call

I bought a Milgauss from an AD over the phone with my CC. I would do it again and know many many others who have. I would have bought it if I were you.

It's BNIB from a trusted Rolex AD, can't see what would be a problem.

On the hard to get watches, you're just going to have to take the plunge. I had to commit to my Milgauss even though I'd never held one in my hands. There's not much to inspect really. I hope you don't lose out on that watch because of delaying if it's something you really want though. You got extremely lucky in finding one within a week, and I think you'll have to wait far longer than that if this one's already gone.

I would buy it. When you inspect upon picking it up, I'm sure you can cancel your purchase if you find any defects. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Best of luck.

Either trust that it is good and buy it...what problem could it have if it is brand new?
Or buy a Mickey Mouse watch at Disneyland and give up the opportunity to get a Daytona.

Just curious why she is putting the "hard sell" on you? That alone would make me want to purchase somewhere else. You can always have your credit card company reverse the charges if there's something wrong. Unfortunately I've had to do this a couple times when something purchased wasn't as it was supposed to be.

If it is a brand new watch, and you are dealing with an AD, I would take the plunge. Also remember, if you use your credit card and it turns out there is a problem with the watch, you can always call the cc company and put a stop payment in place.

I have placed stop payments in the past when the vendor did not come through with his/her part of the agreement. It gives you leverage. After placing the stop payment you will have to provide information to the cc company. The cc company ends up acting as an arbitrator. My two or three issues in the past 20 years plus, were resolved quite quickly by dealing directly with the vendor.

Yep, get that baby.
If there's a problem then let the cc company take care of it if the AD gets funny.

If it's an AD, and she tells your it's BNIB, and when you get there and it's not then report it to Rolex USA, I bet they would like to hear about that one.

In other words, buy it and worry about inspection when you pic it up.

I would be amazed if the next person in the cue didn't have it on their wrist an hour after you hung up. You made a big mistake. Need to inspect a new Daytona from an AD? Lost a Milly the same way??

Time to get in the game if you're serious about these watches.

Well, on the bright side, you were at the happiest place in the world. Twice! The memories of children at Disneyland is worth more than any Rolex. Just my $0.02.

Besides, they make more than one of those Daytonas per year. You'll get yours.

Why would it be anything but perfect? It sounds like it is a new watch from an AD. If there was a problem, refuse it. Any CC company in the world will back you. You shouldn't need to "inspect" it before buying it. I am sure they want to make sure you were a real buyer and not just a "tire kicker" who can't afford it but wanted to be on "the list"...This way they can go on to the next person on the list, who will snap it up.

Welcome along and enjoy.
Why would you not buy this wacth from an AD. If it is new as stated, then no worries.
Looks like after two refusal's to purchase you might not be so high up their list next time.

As everyone says, if it's brand new, in the box, with all the stickers/tags, etc., what's the worry? And, if it isn't once you get there, simply do not accept it, and have the charge reversed......call that pushy clerk back....gha
