40 yrs old. Wanted one bad when I was about 24 yrs old. Didn't pull trigger, my bad. Got into other nice watches. Bought my first Rolex at 39 yrs old and a year later bought my second. Currently eyeballing a third one, which I hope to have in the next few months. 😊

I'm 62 in a coupla weeks.
Got my first Rolex at 60. Wanted a black dial Sub since I was 15 and got a Seiko copy of one at 17 for $40. Sold all my lesser watches to get my Explorer II at 61. I had no idea what an Explorer II was until I joined Trf. Rolex to me only meant a Sub or a TT Champagne dial DJ. I spied that gold fluted bezel out in the wild for decades! Now the Explorer II is my favourite watch. Rolex 4 ever! |

37. Bought a 214270 to celebrate a career milestone in 2012. I was a one watch guy but found a 18038 (from 1978) this July bc I'd been looking for one for about a year. I blame trf!

33 years old. Picked up my first Rolex at the age of 30, a black dial 16570. For as long as I can remember I have wanted a Rolex.

A long wait
Wanted one since I was 20 and in 83 while travelling through Singapore almost bought a stainless datejust 900 USD and didn't pull the trigger, then life got in the way and wasn't in the position to get one till I was 49. Now have 16613, 116263, 116610lvc and my Tudor 79280.
Definitely worth the wait Cheers |

Keep in mind that your poll is going to skew younger due to the internet factor. The older folks are less likely to spend time on internet forums

54 now, wanted a Rolex since I was about 20.
( I still have a price list and tatty catalogue from about 1986 when the ss GMT 2 was about £998 and the SS Daytona was listed at about £882, the Sub was £1012, the dearest of the three ! ) Got my first, a GMT2 tt when I was just turned 40. Added a Tudor blue faced pre Tiger Prince a couple of years later. Finally a few weeks ago I added the SS white face Daytona, always craved a Daytona and have finally got it !! |
