Oyster Perpetual Vs The Snowflake

Which one do you prefer? One is a bit dressier than the other imo, but both can be great everyday wear. The robustness of Rolex and the details of Grand Seiko.

I like the Rolex

Hello fellow Bay Arean! You are asking on a Rolex forum! I think the OP is a classic and the black goes with everything. Sporty and dressy.

OP wins just by a little. If the Snowflake was a tad heavier, it'd be perfect. I love the way the second hand glides across the dial

I'm digging the power reserve complication on the Grand Seiko!

GS is a special watch, but I sold it as I just got no pleasure wearing it - Was a mm or two to big, just didn’t enjoy the look on the wrist. Weight makes it extreamly comfortable. Cool watch, but I’d go white OP if I had to choose.

Honestly I think they're on equal footing. I think preference in ownership comes down to personality. Do you want something that combines electronics and mehanics into something technically spectacular? Or do you want a modern mechanical marvel tied with brand history and prestige? I really do like the Snowflake, but if it were my money I'd buy the Oyster Perpetual.
(And as a matter of personal preference, I really don't like the design of the bracelet on the Snowflake)

Rolex for sure. That Seiko dial looks like it’s water damaged

in this case, def the GS. That dial is amazing, i like having a date, and honestly, I find the Oyster boring compared to the GS. The finishing on the GS is unmatched.

At the end of the day, which one feels better in the heart? For me, the GS, but your going to be the one wearing it, no me ;)

Lol not even close. My wife has a Snowflake. Not sure any Rolex would match up to it or any other GS.

Neither is appealing to me. Both are just too blah to me and I have conservative taste.

GS

But the GS head with Rolex bracelet would be perfection in a simple watch.

Grand Seiko easily...
Entry level Rolex cannot compete with Seiko's flagship product. Those that neigh say on the GS most likely haven't seen one in real life. They're beautiful.

That's a good video of how it actually looks. It's a work of art. Bracelet isn't terrible either despite what people say, it's just getting it to fit right. If you're lucky and can get the adjustment then the bracelet is fantastic. If you can't quite get the fit... that's the problem. No micro-adjusts on the clasp etc. But in fairness, they also look fantastic on straps.

GS for me, the polish on the markers against that texture on the dial... plus blue steel seconds hand!

I’d rather not have to choose! I’ll say OP as I really like that exact one and while I love GS im not a spring drive guy...yet.

I'd be happy to own the OP; I don't think the GS would get much wrist time.

Even though absolutely love both the dial and the origin of the Snowflake, I am unconvinced by the Spring-Drive movement and GS bracelets don't look to be on the same level as the Oyster. Ultimately I would choose the OP.

How big is your wrist? I like GS but they are usually big and bulky with crappier bracelets.

Thanks for the video link. I'm one of those who have never seen a GS in real life. I've never really paid any attention to them TBH. It looks beautiful and really IS a work of art! Is the second hand sweep really that smooth!? Very nice piece!
