Novelty 44 - Ceramic vs Ti
Gents - in an effort to sell things I don't wear, I'm considering selling my 15202st, as it doesn't get much wrist time. I'm really more of a strap guy; it's as simple as that.
I'm looking to get into the Novelty 44. I am a big guy and generally dress very casually, so it'd work well from a lifestyle and size perspective. Also it'd check the "sporty" box, which I don't have a ton of in my lineup. I am between the full ceramic, and the Ti. I'm really split down the middle here. I'd love to hear ownership opinions of both, and general thoughts on which is more versatile and more desirable. Thanks! |

Personally, I would go for the Ceramic. From a wear and tear perspective it should be a very carefree experience.
The only drawback is if you don't like the all black look. There is also the Pride of Germany limited edition full ceramic model (link) that you might like better if you can secure an allocation.

I feel like I could break up the all black look if I wanted. It could take a dark grey strap (or even camo!) strap |

I have owned both and frankly sort of miss them haha
Slight preference to the Ti for me but I am just a huge fan of grey. I would probably go POG edition if buying today though. I was not a huge fan of the dial on the current ce. I prefer some pop from the subdials.

Ti and Ceramic both are nice pieces, really comes down to color preferences.
I remembered trying the Ti and forgot to return it on my way out from the store (it is really light) lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The good news is that the CE is what I was leaning towards, and this all but confirms it!
Keep the opinions coming! Also, if anyone has the camo rubber strap on the CE, I would LOVE to see what that looks like. |

I too would go for the Ceramic, which is AP's new wheelhouse, with the anthracite dial, or I'd go for the Germany if the gold plots don't put you off.

I’ve been told by AP in London that a blue strap really suits the latest gen ceramic 44 due to the electric blue sub dial hands, it’s possible that the new blue Camo would suit it but I don’t think AP make a grey/dark Camo so you’d have to go to Horus straps which aren’t as good. I agree, totally, that blue would really set it off with the sub dial hands. I remember the boutique telling me one time the rubber straps are a little under $300 (that could be totally wrong), so playing around isn't an expensive endeavour. |

I went with latest CE all black. Given the size etc black one wears it quite good and ceramic gives it high tech look, also AP finishing of ceramic is second to none. Should also be scratch free.
Only thing if you want something more “lively” you can look for more contrast can try combat or green one, TI vs ceramic would go for ceramic again. Also it complements nicely my steel jumbo:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ti for me - dial is amazing, must see in person. I’m not into black AP.

Both great references, but CE IMHO. It's under the radar and the CE finishing under sunlight is just out of this world cool.

Ceramic is a phenomenal piece....it’s lighter than TI and is a very modern and amazing material to enjoy...nobody finishes ceramic like AP it shimmers under sunlight exposing the brilliant details further and at current pricing it’s a whole lot of watch for the money....

I agree with your comments but can’t really say the weight should come into play as the 26405CE is only 2g lighter then the 26400IO so pretty much a mute point. On a plus (not so to the wallet) both have enough contrast for each to have a place in a collection without any issues. |

I had both. CE will get boring after sometime - at least that's what happened with me. It lost wrist time to the Ti.
However, I believe the CE looks smaller which is a plus as 44s are huge. |

Been thinking about this choice as well. Pretty much decided titanium was the way to go with the contrast to the bezel, would go older dial as well but now this has got me thinking.

CE with the old anthracite dial checks both boxes for me. I traded my Carbon 44 for one last month.

My vote is for the CE. Been loving mine, and so nice not to have to worry so much about scratching it. Still looks mint. |

Owned both. I thought I preferred ceramic in pictures, but in person it’s Ti hands down - much more detail and depth to dial, hands and indexes - no comparison. Ti is stunning.

I have also owned both Ti and Ce and I would take the ceramic for sure over the Ti. AP ceramic is hard to beat!
