I do agree with you Peter but to be fair when a white dial Ceramic Daytona sells for Aus$30000 I can understand why some may be careful with it.

We used to wear similar watch straps when I was in the Army during the South West Africa / Angola "border" war. It helped to eliminate glare and made us look tough and dangerous.

When I was in college many years ago I got a 34mm OP (IIRC) for $120. I put it on and rarely took it off for many years. It kept running fine, in the shower, pool, and whilst riding a motorcycle. I didn't care or even think about scratches; I was just so proud to have it!
