Tudor Heritage Chrono alternative
This is an Arsa Precision chrono with a Valjoux 7734 movement. It appears to have been produced in the 1970s, around the same time as the 1st generation Tudor Monte Carlo which are highly collectible. It houses the same movement. I haven't been able to locate any other information about it. Can anyone shed any more light on this Arsa chrono?
I love the look and it wears amazing. Sporty, retro, funky and a fraction of the cost of a vintage Tudor. It's also in fantastic condition. |

Sorry, Terry. I don't have any info on this chrono. But agree, it's retro, funky, and sporty. Nice snag.

ARSA watches seem to be a brand by the company Auguste Reymond, which seems to be still in existence.
Their watches seem to be for sale often in the aftermarket. You may be able to glean more information from these links, but what you already stated is about all I could discern in a cursory review. http://www.chrono24.com/augustereymo...tches--new.htm http://www.sometimeago.com/the-small...h-brands-arsa/ http://www.sometimeago.com/arsa-chronograph/ http://www.augustereymond.ch/the-brand/the-brand/ https://www.google.com/search?q=arsa...K2sm8QRn0a-YM: https://www.google.com/search?q=Arsa...raph&start=0&*

Arsa caseback
Thanks for the helpful links. Seems like ARSA was absorbed into the Unitas group which was connected with Valjoux and ETA. Does this mean the Valjoux 7734 movement housed inside is technically an inhouse calibre?
Apparently ARSA made pilot and chronograph watches. They also issued timepieces to the German military in WW2. This would suggest high precision and robustness. I noticed in one of the photos of the caseback in one of the website links has 5 atu water resistance. Mine has a similar caseback but has 20 atu which is a bit ambitious for a 1970s chrono? Wonder if they were tested for different ratings according to case variants? |
