I have not been able to reach Kari yet. Kari is busy and personally present every day at Baselworld.

His Patek AD, Marc, told me he had tried several times to call Arnaud today but all calls are still immediately being transferred to voicemail.
Marc called Air France and was told that Arnaud never checked in for the flight from Paris to Zurich, neither online nor in person. He had a booked ticket of which he had forwarded me a picture/copy so his intentions were clearly to definitely make it to Baselworld this time.
Arnaud had two seperate tickets for Odessa to Paris and Paris to Zurich (not a connecting or transfer flight).

Hi Dimitry & all,

I sent one of my friend to his address in Odessa this morning but apparently when the door was knocked, nobody responded. My friend will try again in the afternoon. He did not get any info when they were last seen.
I will continue to use my other resources to see if he left Odessa for Paris.

Been and will keep following this, I hope it's just some unfortunate set of events which have result in him being off the radar so to speak.

My fingers are crossed it's nothing major.

On a side note I seem to remember Arnaud talking about some family members not living in France or of French origin I'm not sure if this is then Odessa or elsewhere maybe a family event had taken him away from both locations?!
Might be clutching at straws but def remember something like that as he used to take advantage of that buying watches with duty.

Apparently, whatever it is - it happened in Paris as he arrived to Paris but not left Paris as per the initial info by Dmitriy. I really hope Arnaud is fine and will ping us soon.

Did he have to stay in a hotel for a layover in Paris?? Or was his flight right after the first arrived??

And if he is definitely in Paris maybe the authorities need to be contacted there so they can begin to review airport surveillance footage of him exiting plane and follow him??

Arnaud was looking forward to coming to Baselworld, which we were going to visit together.
About 5 days ago he transferred funds to his Swiss AD for his 5711 which he arranged to pick up at Baselworld. He was also going to meet Kari Voutilainen at Baselworld.

He sent me his flight details via email and was supposed to arrive in Zurich last Friday night with an Air France flight arriving from Paris.

He never showed up.

The flight landed on time uneventfully but Arnaud was never on it.
I have not received any messages or emails indicating that he would not be able to make it.
I tried calling him on his French mobile and on his Ukrainian number but there was no answer with both simply ringing continuously.
I contacted his AD who told me that he had last spoken with Arnaud the day before the funds were transferred where Arnaud told him "I am going to come no matter what, even if I have 40dg(C) fever". Since then he hasnt heard from Arnaud. He also did not receive any indication that Arnaud would not make it this time. The AD tried to call Arnaud on the following Saturday by which time the calls were directly transferred to Arnaud's voicemail.

At Baselworld I met with Kari V. And asked him if he had heard anything from our friend. Kari also had not heard from him but did confirm that Arnaud was intending to come visit Kari at Baselworld..

My fear is that something happened to him in Paris. I have, unfortunately, no further leads to investigate (no emails or coordinates of his wife).
I fear the worst. I am going to check with his AD and meet with him (Kari) over the next days to see if they hopefully have more news.

Of course if there are any resourceful members here who can help find out more it is highly appreciated.

Agreed. Hopefully he just wanted or needed a few days to play, or relax, or take care of something and for whatever reason; decided to do it in Paris.

He usually stayed at his own place but sold that about a year ago. Afaik he would stay with is old circle of friends.

French authorities have been contacted (not by me but another trf member). They were less then helpful basically saying that if you arent a direct relative they have nothing to go on.

Baselworld, collecting his fully paid 5711 and meeting with Kari were part of those activities.


Here is what we learnt today:
With help of another trf member somebody was sent to knock on the door of his last known address in Odessa. Nobody answered. Hopefully this means his wife is with him.
The information provided by Archer helps to place Arnaud with a high degree of certainty in Paris. The booked AF flight from Paris to Zurich, the 5711 and Kari are not conclusive evidence, but enough of an indication for me that Arnaud was definitely intending to attend Baselworld. His AD is convinced Arnaud was excited to collect his watch.
Arnaud has made a lot posts that indicate that he is not too concerned with what people might think of him so I am inclined to think that he would not have a big issue with admitting that he couldnt make it yet again.

I am really impressed with the trf member support and feelings going out to him.
