What color shoes

So, you guys helped me pick out my suit, now what are your thoughts on shoe color?

So Allen Edmonds Park Avenue
Dark Chili (left) or Oxblood (right). Which color is more versatile? I don't have a need for a lot of dress shoes. I'm not the best fashion person and not the best with colors. Will Oxblood go with more colors? I "think" the Dark Chili looks better with the blue suit, but what do I know. I ask for fashion advice on a watch forum.

For now, just going with a blue suit

Another picture with chili on the left, oxblood on right. These pants are close to color of suit I have, but a little lighter.

I'd vote Oxblood, more traditional and easier to match belts, unless you buy an AE belt in Chili

I can get a belt from them. They are $98. Not bad.

Brown goes with anything. But the oxblood lends itself to casual attire a tad better.

Though both these oxford cap toes tend to lean dressier than a plain toe derby would (AE LAX, for example).

Both are pretty versatile but I like the chili better.
Good looking suit and shoes
Medium browns and tans work with blue suits as well.

Mik, I'm always partial to the AE chili color even though I don't have a pair. (yet)

The wife likes the chili also. Gonna take her to the store tomorrow and make the decision. I'm partial to both. There is more depth in the oxblood (variations) but I do like the hili a lot also. Thought choic and probable no bad choice either.

Brown goes with most pants colors, except black. Oxblood looks a bit more casual. If it were me I would get Dark Chili, but it would depend on what pants/suit colors I owned. The safe choice is going to be the Dark Chili. I love brown shoes with a blue suit, so yes it matches perfectly.

Just bought the dark chili (AE park avenue). It was the one that caught my eye and got the wife's approval. I ordered with the road warrior sole. They should be here in about 2 more weeks.

Great idea. Might I suggest the Strand? It's a very popular AE model.

It was a dead heat. 11:11 My wife submitted the final vote. Chili. She did want a different style but I stuck with the park avenue. Incoming in a week I guess.

Thanks TRF.

Nice I think the chili color is more versatile. The oxblood looks more red than brown

The wife made the decision. Good deal, Allen Edmonds are great shoes and if you take care of them they will last decades.

I prefer the OxBloods BUT the chili brown will look better with the suit and with jeans. The brown is actually more versatile than the Ox. They are pretty equal when it comes to pairing with Suits and Casual business attire.

But currently Browns are more hip than Reds outside of that narrow realm.
