I really like 34 for a woman, but 36 seems to be the more popular choice lately

Wife preferred 31. I recommend you just take her and let her pick. Easier for everyone.

What did you end up in getting? Over size watches are in for women in the last 3yrs. I would go 34mm or 36mm. And how tall is your wife?

36mm for sure. Anything other than that on a younger woman is just too small.

Congrats! I personally like the midsize on women but as others have suggested, definitely recommend that she try all of them on.

The 28mm to me seems universal and elegant. But she has to wear it and if she wants 41 or 36, that is what you should get.

Same happened with me. She always wore her 26 and 28. We resized my 36 and it looks amazing on her.

I think the trend for women is to go larger these days.

My wife wouldn't hear about anything larger than a 28mm. The bottom line as to what size is right for a woman is, "whatever size she wants."

i have both---36 DJ and the Cartier Love Bracelet. Size of DJ depends on what she likes. It's not that big.

I much prefer 39-41 on women. Small women’s watches look dated to me.

I think the 31 or 34 would look great. As the early 2000’s are now twenty years ago and when the huge watch trend started, wearing big ole saucers on your wrist look dated to me. I like to see a perfect ratio of bracelet and case on top of the wrist, not just case. There’s nothing worse than seeing someone wearing a huge Rolex, or rather the Rolex is wearing them - it kinda makes u think it might be fake.

31mm would be perfect for a ladies Datejust - distinctly feminine. 28mm starts to look more like a bracelet and 36mm looks like she is wearing your watch.

Now I would guess most women would prefer the Cartier bracelet and just ask their fella what the time is.

My wife’s first rolex was a 26mm DJ however that was traded up to a 33mm Royal oak. As the years have went on and the eyes have aged she has bought a larger AP millenary and most recently a 36mm DJ

I started down this road with my wife and ended up with a peloton bike instead, she’s on it almost every single day - more than she’d wear the watch!

I picked up a 32mm tudor bb for my wife. It felt much bigger than the 31mm dj I put next to it. AD will also have the same exact model 36 available when we go to size it just to be safe, all bases covered. I would try this if possible, she still has not received this gift yet.

She asked for a watch, but I wouldn't say she is into watches. The goal here was trying to get her a nice piece she can wear in her profession daily and get into the hobby possibly. The crown was too loud for her. Time will tell.

ALWAYS a 36mm for women. Most of them have small wrists to begin with. There is no better watch on a woman's wrist than a 36mm or 40mm.

If you can, get one with a diamonds on the dial & bezel. And it must be 2-tone.

Congratulations! As it's been said many times, she really needs to try them on. I thought for sure my wife would prefer 31-34. She put on my Sub one day and loved the larger size. After trying a few on, she liked the 36 best.

However, in the end she choose an additional diamond band over the watch. Can't win'em all.

I went with a DJ31 white baton dial/fluted/jubilee. My wife loves it. The size was perfect but she has tiny wrists. Most importantly she had tried on the 31, 34 and 36. She may have chosen 34 if it came with a Jubilee but opted for the 31.
