Red Sub Help

Hi all.

My dad is asking my opinion on this one, and the Sub is not a reference that I know everything on. I know enough to know I need help.

Service hands for sure. Dial appears to be a Mark VI and original. Bezel appears to be original as well. Case, imo, appears pretty sharp.

What do you experts think? Buy or pass? Thank you.

Got any pics with the wrapper off? Your assessment seems about right, but I'd need much better photos and many of them.

See if you can get the serial number to compare to the MK 6 dial; I have seen some "mis-matched" examples that you want to avoid...

Bezel looks ok but the insert appears to be a replacement....

Difficult to say from that pic.

But looks like a VI dial.

That's kinda the question....

I held it in my hand last night and it seems sharp and honest with all links. No box or papers of any kind. It needs to be cleaned and either a new crystal or at least a good polish.

What do you guys think is a good range on a fair purchase price?

Thanks for the inputs thus far.

Pass, it's not what I would call even a 'decent example'

Looks to have a nice dial and sharp case but as Karl said it's hard to tell without better pics.

Hands are not a huge issue. Many vintage watches on this forum have had hands re done to match.

Keep in mind sourcing the correct fat font insert can ve pretty expensive.

First of all, every single picture the seller posts of dial has a vinyl wrap over it. Most likely to hide any flaws on the dial. Looks like the dial may have a few chips, specifically at six o'clock.
