Daytona- pusher button operation

On or off the wrist?

When I bought my first Rolex Daytona, while trying it on, I went to turn the knobs on the pusher buttons with the watch on my wrist. The SA warned me not to use them while it's on and that I should take it off to operate these buttons. She stated it could eventually "bend" or damage it these buttons.....Is this true?

I'm thinking, if I was in my car, on the track checking my lap times, I'd have to remove it to use the Chrono?

I know it's a stupid question.....

Depends on the user. I've seen many who can't traverse a walking escalator even without distraction.

The only chrono I’ve removed to operate is a pulsometer, because it was tricky to operate and monitor pulse at the same time.

All other times, Daytona or other brand it’s on the wrist.

I've used my Daytona's pushers, while it's on my wrist, almost every day since I got it new from an AD in 2015. No problems. It's designed to be used.

There seems to be no shortage of bad advice coming from ADs
