New 38mm ROC on wrist

I had the pleasure of trying on the new 38mm ROC. Nice watch and great size! I have to say in pictures the silver/blue panda looks great but on wrist the grey/silver is just stunning (in certain lights it's almost skeleton-like)

(Note I have 6.75 inch wrist)

For size comparison next to my Daytona :)

Thank you for posting these.
The side by side size comparison with the Daytona allows a great perspective on how it actually wears.

I’m now certain the 38mm ROC is perfect for my 6.25-.3” wrist.

Added a Daytona wrist shot on original post for comparison too.

The Daytona is certainly more svelte while the ROC is very "industrial" and much chunkier than Daytona (even though technically the Daytona is 40mm (or tad under) and ROC is 38mm. The integrated design of the bracelet makes a huge difference to the ROC

Awesome! Any shots of the bracelet? Does it seem like the same one that’s on the 15450?

Looks great. I’ve always preferred the blue/white over the grey based on pictures, so interesting to hear your perspective that the grey one looks better in person.

I would be in the same boat as you

But when i had it on the wrist the grey/silver just seemed to be cooler version of the chrono

I also didn't realize that the blue in the panda dial is a tad neon-ish in tone. Maybe that's alway been the case for the chronos or maybe just this new ROC. It certainly didn't seem like the blue on the standard RO like 15400 or 15450

I did have a 15450 for comparison and the narrowest part of the bracelet seems to be a hair thinner on the 15450 than the ROC 38. Unfort i didnt take pics

But here are a couple more views

Looks incredible, thanks for the pics. Now if I can only get them to allocate me one -- didn't expect it would be that hard since I have a decent purchase history, but the Bad Harbour boutique wasn't sure they could get one for me. :(

Looks like the subdials are the same size as on the 41 and seem to be eating up a lot of dial real estate.

Thanks for this, very useful!

Looking at it side by side with the Daytona, it looks chunkier like you mentioned. Would you say it has about similar presence then to the current maxi case sub or gmt? Or perhaps just slightly bigger?

Great pics.

Contact the LV boutique. As of 2 weeks ago, they informed me they still have 2 spots for the new chrono grey dial.

i have the BLNR, BLRO, and SD4K (not the SD43)... and i would have to say it "felt" larger than those three. i don't think it is but i suppose the design of the watch, integrated bracelet, and SS bezel...just made it seem like a lot of watch.

Don't get me its not a bad thing and fit my wrist nicely, but its definitely "chunky". Of course, wrist size and shape will change how the watch feels to each person.

Excellent pictures, and thank you for taking a side by side picture with Daytona. That more than anything, gives me the best idea what this watch is going to wear like.

Cheers Bruce - i was hoping it would indeed feel a bit larger than the maxi case - just so there's enough heft but a classic enough size that won't go out of style.

Great, thanks so much!

Was going to ask this very same question.

Just the info I was looking for. Very informative post. Thanks mate.

Now, I just have to find time to visit AP store & see if I can try one on.
Spoke to the AD over the phone & they've given me October as a possible time for availability.

Great pics. For smaller wrists I think this size is great. However the dial looks a little busy with the larger sub-dials. It’s nice to now have a choice between 38 and 41 mm though.

I called the AP boutique in Paris and they told me that the new 38mm will not be available at the boutique before september 2019. Where did you try it? Very nice comparaison with the Daytona C. The watch looks great!!
