Opinions for 16750 from year 1983

Hi fellow watch lovers, I need your opinion s and advise on the 16750,
It’s 76million serial number, from year of 1983 according to the seller
The hands are pretty rusted.
Please be kind to share your thoughts.
Thank you

C'mon... with one blurry pixelated pic?

Even in this poor, small low-res image the dial and hands look rotten.

I'm not sure what type of opinion you are looking for regarding this GMT. It is not a great example suffers from both dial and hand issues which are both significant in determining the value of a vintage Rolex GMT 16750. My best advise would be to keep looking for a better example.

There are far better examples out there. This would have to be crazy low priced to be interesting and even then... why?

What is your budget?

Downside is the dial lume decay on 12,7,4 and 1 and a few minute markers have dulled in last qtr perhaps and the oxidised hands.

Upside is that it an original period correct MK1 matte/h-set, orig crown and case looks okayish.

Someone like SHWR could clean up the dial and handset a bit and make it pretty nice original piece.

I'm personally not totally down on it - as my wheelhouse is 1953-63 subs, gmts, togs and explorers - and original period dials are often like this, with a smidge of lume rot/decay and oxidation etc... so I'm quite tolerant of a bit of dial degredation and oxidation even on slightly younger pieces.

If it was the right price perhaps. Care to share what it's up at?

Are you looking at buying this watch? If so I’d offer a low number. I do kind of like the bezel insert.

I really enjoy reading your comments here and elsewhere. In this instance, others may then cry ‘re-do’ if the dial is in any way cleaned. How would you view the watch post ‘clean’?

Cheers RB7. Tbh not sure what SHWR do, but I get it back and it's not been retouched or anything....it just looks like a fresher/cleaner dial and hands, after a plexi polish and the other little things they do/have in their armoury.
