Which part are you questioning?

ie the ETA portion is a well documented fact, they will (have already reduced) stop supplying movements for manufacturers outside of the swatch group ( hence the influx of in house movements that we have seen in the past few years, especially from the Richemont group) the panerai discontinuation of other models using ETA based movements (as they are made now) is purely speculation at this point, but inevitable.

i am just curious if the date will be dictated by Swatch or if Panerai has set their own deadline

Its not a coincident that the marketing teams have really made the in-house movement "fashionable" the last few years since ETA movements were being restricted.

I am looking to buy either a Panerai Pam 177 or Pam 564.

I am buying the watch to wear.

However, from an investment point of view, if I ever needed to sell it in the future, would the ETA movement on the 177 be any more, or less, attractive to a future purchaser, than the 8-day in-house movement on the 564?

The exhibition back on the 177 is more attractive, and I wondered if ETA movements will become a rarity in time? The 177 is discontinued.

Or, am I better going full Panerai? The 564 is readily available.

Who knows if eta vs in-house movements will be worth more down the line, but one thing is for sure - neither will be a good investment - there are enough of these in the Panerai world that makes them common (that is a relative terms vs Rolex for example).

Buy what you will like and wear.
