First try DSLR shots

I've been into photography for a long time. First time using high-end gear to shoot watches! Made some mistakes, learned a few things. Will do better next time! I'm sure some of you pros can give me some tips!

For those interested: Canon 5D Mark II, 24-70/f2.8L

Amazing watches. The shots despite looking good, I feel the lighting and reflections need some adjustments. I am no expert tho

Smudges, for one thing--dust for another. Also as was mentioned...reflected light can be used to make a dramatic image, but can also get in the way. Very difficult to manage!

Also, DOF is a challenge, as was mentioned in another thread.

Really cool shots
I'm no photography expert, but I know what my eyes can see!
My only comment would be to think about the background in your images.
Although blurred one of them looks like there's a fridge door or something visible?
Apologies if this sounds too negative about what are otherwise very nice images.

Thanks! It does look a little like a fridge...it's book case/cabinet. Just need to adjust the angle.

Love the Daytona shot. Not sure if it’s just compression on mobile, but looks like there are fingerprints on the crystal :”(

Probably, haha. Have to remember to clean the crystal before shooting next time. Thanks!

Great photos. Maybe you could also try shooting the watches vertically and from the top?
