18 Days!! PAM 270 or PAM 233?
Showing the subtle differences of the PAM 270 vs PAM 233. Notice the bigger font size of the 12 & 6 on the PAM 233. The longer hour markers on the PAM 233. The lesser calibration on the PAM 270 power reserve. The larger power reserve circle indicator on the PAM 233. The thicker minute hand of the PAM 270. And of course the more obvious differences, the AM/PM indicator differences and the and the absence of the "9" on the PAM 233.
Which dial do you like better? |

IMHO I like the more balanced feel on the dial of the 270.

233 Hands down...
At first I questioned myself when I got the 233 for MANY reasons (AM/PM indicator, Auto vs Manual etc) BUT now that all is said and done I wouldn't even consider a 270 (unless you want to give me one or trade even out on my 233) Also, I hear the 233 is changing on the dial a bit this year (AM/PM indicator for starters) I think the 233 is nice and clean looking! The issues I questioned at first are all the things I love about it!

233 for me... I believe there is an AM/PM dot on the 9 for new 2009 models ...
I will see in April when I get mine!

The 233 is getting the AM/PM indicator this year, it's in the brochure. It's ashame though as the dot looks good and doesn't mess with the dial, i also hear the price for the 233 will be going up due to this 'update'.

Good!
I am glad they are messing up a perfect watch. See, their error will make this watch even more collectible! First in house Panerai, an amazing in house movement and a classic dial now being screwed up (in my humble view) Regardless it will still be an amazing watch BUT mine will be more unique!

Both are amazing pieces. I tend to lean toward the 270.

I vote for the 270, winding the 233 is a chore!

8 days dot for me. 10 days is a great watch, but between those two, I'd take the 233.

Got myself a 233K. 8 day manual, DOT indicator, sits on wrist better than 270 (270 is really thick and sits really high on wrist).

233!!! I have never understood why they put a 10 day power reserve on an automatic watch.

233 is the easy choice for me.
I'm a big fan of the AM/PM indicator, so it's nice to see this "function" on this model as well. 1263407667900_Pam_233.jpg Cheers, Joe

Pam 233 all day, I just didn't like the way they tried to squeeze that 9 in front of the am/pm indicator on the Pam 270
