Incomng Straps and...

So I if I buy anything I usually have it sent ot Singapore and hand carry it back to Jakarta because the Indonesian customs if bringing anything in via the couriers can get ruthless and bypass any invoice and charge whatever duty they think they can get away with. So by doing this I save huge amounts of money but I have to wait longer for my goods.

So this past week, I went to Singapore.

Straps, I bought 3 from Zergun all at very very reasonable costs (around 70 or 80 bucks if I remember) and 2 from TCStraps at USD 200 or so. The funny thing I noticed is that the Zerguns put tubes in the straps but the more expensive Italian straps they do not, go figure. If needed copy the pics and blow them up they are quite hi-res and you can see the names on them.

So a month or so ago, I picked up a 4B, a 9B and a 28B. The 4B did not have a COSC so it is in Italy getting that but here are the 9B and the 28B with the new straps.

Then more temptation came along about 2 or 3 weeks ago at a more than reasonable price.

A Grail...the 5218-201/A

Thanks guys for al the well wishes, I do love them all. Yes more temptation has reared it's ugly head as of today out of Europe. Seems a Pre 4A (with a t-swiss-t dial) has come on the market but what I really lust after is the rarer Pre 9A with the same dial, oh that would be magic but it is usually magic that they come on the market.

Traveling back with a passenger side headrest with DVD video recessed in the headrest for my VW Touareg so with that, the 3 watches, 4 PAM watch boxes, 2 learning gifts for the 2 year old and probably 10kg of stuff the wife asked for and it should be an interesting day at customs. Yes, maybe some smooth or pissed off talk later. Lucky I got a 40kg baggage maximum going back.

Heru, we may have to finally meet up this later next week as I am finally able to slow down for a month or so.

Well it could be worse, I could be trying to travel in Europe right now and stuck in an airport.

WOW... Super nice pieces Robert!

I have that same Zergun black strap and like it better than the OEM Black Buffalo on my PVD Zero. It was a buy one get one free with a Zergun sharky a few months back...funny the freebie is now one of my favorites.

Robert, how about Mini GTG on May 28 in Senayan City Mall or maybe Plaza Senayan? And the REAL GTG on June in Bandung? Please PM me if you interest.

Thanks guys for all the kind words. I landed this afternoon and was surprised how quick and not given a 2nd look by the customs people. I had 45kgs of checked luggage and no problems.

As Heru knows when our bags come in to the terminal here in Jakarta the customs officials put all check luggage via a scanner/xray and if they spot anything they want to question then they mark your bags with white chalk. Then putting it on the baggage carry system that brings it to us. Once the customs out in the terminal see white chalk makrs they ask you to put the baggage in via their x-ray and then automatically ask you to open up. Even if you get past the guys out back and no white chalk marks then customs also asks you to put your carry on luggage via their x-ray system.

So through it all I came out clean, no chalk marks, giving me crap about bringing in 2 bottles of booze and no crap over the watch boxes or the video headrest. Now back at home and rolling in my 2 girls arms.

Heru, I can pretty much confirm about the mini-GTG in Senayan next month.

Hebbaaatt!!

Wow nice collection bro! I had the same trepidation going thru Jkt customs with my 193 and 15 straps (yes, I know I have a problem) recently. Fortunately same experience as you with nary a second glance.

On a side note, a big hand to Indonesian airport custom officials who in the recent few months have been doing an incredible job catching all the drugs smuggled into the country (a few hundred million dollars worth by now I believe!). A MUCH more significant catch than a few smuggled Pams...

Bro Heru, ikut dong yg di Senayan!
