Congratulations, its a great piece! I agree with taking out the divers extension. I also removed one link from the 6 o clock side. Fits perfect on my 7" wrist.

Enjoy it!

So I've had the divers extension removed but it's still not feeling comfortable on my wrist yet but this is my first Rolex and first 'large' watch so it may just need some getting used to. But I just wanted to check with you guys re the configuration of links. The glide lock clasp is very much towards the right hand side of my wrist right up against the bone. Is this normal?

This is mine for comparison, not sure it really helps as it has the divers extension but is perfect on my wrist!!

Yours seems more evenly configured than mine, I have 3 links at 6 o clock but 5.5 links at 12 o clock whereas looking at yours you have 5 links at 6 o clock and 4 links plus divers extension (which appears to be equivalent to 2 links). I think I need to move a link from 12 o clock to 6 o clock perhaps.

What a pick up! The rest of the world is waiting and you got one from the case!

Give it a few days and see if you get used to it if it's your first big/heavy watch. It looks fantastic.

You need to move the 1/2 link to the 6 o'clock side

That should help to centre the clasp on your wrist.

Let's not be derogatory and call them fanboys because if you are going to argue ADs, esp in the UK, are simply darling you could not be more wrong. Every man Jack of us would kill to be able to access those TS now.

Congrats OP, watch is big but not too big for your wrists.

Congrats on a great find.

Don't hate me for saying this, but looking at the pictures on your wrist, and then looking at the pictures of the sized watch on the table,.... I think it is too big for you. Now that being said, if you like it and you enjoy it, go for it. But if this is your first rolex, and it feels big to you too, and it is uncomfortable, don't let the hype surrounding this watch get to you. Sell it (at a good profit, potentially), and get a nice Sub that might be a much better fit for you.

Just sharing my 2 cents here.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Thanks for your input

I shall see how I get on with it. Very limited market for me to sell the watch though unfortunately as I live in Bermuda where we have a population of just 65,000 people!

Hopefully once I get the bracelet sized right I'll be happy, I actually like a bigger watch, I've worn a 41mm Tag for the past 7 years and always felt that was too small. I just need to find the sweet spot in terms of comfort.

I haven't followed the UK market in a while, but I can say with some authority that many small European ADs got plenty of these pieces way sooner than anyone expected.
An AD I deal with pretty often got 3, and he still hasn't received a single 116500. His waitlist is now empty for this piece (well, not really, I'm getting the next one as well next month).

I did just that and it feels so much more comfier now! Extremely comfortable in fact for a 'larger' watch!

Surprisingly the SD43 is being widely released here too so I agree this watch will not be an issue and no one is arguing a premium "tax" should be paid, but with many other SS they are very hard to get and are thus selling at a premium on the grey/resale market, so the US TS look like a Godsend. D500 is a different beast altogether and most on TRF don't advocate paying a premium at all, those that do are the vast minority and should be framed as such.

Glad to hear you found the proper fit! It really is a super comfortable watch to wear. Definately not the "beast" that the DSSD is

Found one is the case!!! What the heck man! Congrats - looks great on you.

I see you are wearing a dress shirt. Can you tell me how the thickness effects how easily the cuff can go over the watch? Do you mind the cuff getting caught a lot more than other watches with thinner profiles?
