The watchuwant channel on YouTube (which is great btw.) is asking for/offering to buy Hulks and Batmans at the beginning of several videos.

I personally would guess (and it is only a guess) that the Hulk will be discontinued at Baselword 2018 and the Sub movements will be updated. I think as a result any one of the following could happen (again guesswork).

Original (no date) Sub in hulk/Kermit design
Sub/Sub date with some green text (GMT style)
Sub date in completely new colour (maybe a red/maroon)

There is also a chance Rolex makes the next green Sub a PM exclusive and discontinues the SS LVc. They have done that trick before. Either way there is no bad scenario with owning or purchasing a LVc now.

I wouldn’t buy one just because they’re going to potentially be discontinued one day… It’s a cool watch, but way too much green for me personally.

Awesome. So as it stands now I need to get a GMTMaster2 16710 with the 3186, I also need to get a SDc 116600 and now effective today I need to buy an LVc, not to mention that the D-Blue will surely be stopped any day now so might as well add that one too....
Wait, they just stopped production on the DJ2. OMG which ones to get....

I need to sit my wife down immediately and explain the importance of purchasing one of each just to put away in a safe until 40 years from now. We're going to be rich.

In the meantime I'll just make due with the new Apple watch.....every, year....wait wuh...
I can collect those too. Think I'm unto something here. Heck, I'll just go watchless and use my cell phone.
Thanks TRF, you guys are great.

Everyone thinks that when an owner of an AD tells them something they're getting legitimate inside info. Makes the customer walk out feeling important, but truth is he knows as much as we do. Unless you sit in on a major meeting with all the heads of Rolex, you'll never know this info!

My local AD once told me a couple years ago that they didn’t stock the LVC because the black sub outsold it 10 to 1.

I’m curious if other AD’s experienced the same thing. Either way, it doesn’t make the LVC rare, but I’m glad I own mine. Green isn’t my favorite color, but I’ve never looked at mine and thought “whoa, too much green!” The dial usually looks black until I step outside.

p/s: The rumours are strong in Hong Kong and that has resulted in a sort of domino effect to Malaysia as far as I'm concerned,, unfortunately jacking up the premium of both BNIB and pre-owned by > 10% in the third quarter of 2017

For those who are saying movement will be replaced, do you think an updated/upgraded movement will translate to price increase? I would certainly think so...

Foam green kitchens were the rage once too. So be careful of color fads.

I agree its really a poor color but it is certainly the darling of TRF. I sold mine after a short time. Never missed it.

I kept mine for two years, don't miss it. Threads like this have me kicking myself for selling it when the price was (apparently) at a trough, but hey, that's just par for the course for me, stocks, watches, whatever: buy high, sell low.

No one has any idea what Rolex does except Rolex. Discontinued models are usually pulled a few months prior to Basel.

Let's use the Milgauss as an example. The non GV versions disappeared from literature a few months prior to Basel. This was done over the past 2-3 years with the black dial being discontinued first followed by the white dial almost a year later. No one saw Z-blue dial until it was released.

The only way I'd buy that the LV is being discontinued would be if it is absent from the website and/or company literature.

I thought so too, but in indoor lighting, the dial looks almost black, reminiscent of the Kermit... though I would purchase in a heartbeat, a refresh with a black dial for the Hulk.

Green options are nice to have. LVc and LV (with a LN insert).
