Thanks. Is the dial right for its serial number?

Dealer confirmed dial is from the 70's as the original radium one was replaced during service. I made the purchase anyway

The dial is wrong if it is a 800K serial watch.
The bracelet is a newer replacement, obviously. Best to take off the bracelet and inspect what is written between the lugs. The pointy guard 5513 aren't dime a dozen.

I got it for around $6.5k
Dealer has offered me a straight swap for a correct 70's 5513 in 3 month's time in the case that I'm unhappy with my 5513 with mismatch dial |

Sounds like a fair deal and even better if you're allowed to swap later.
In my mind it's no important that the dial is mismatched. I'd choose the one that's in better shape. Yours looks very nice.

Thanks for the advice. Got some comments from Rolex Service Centre - everything is ok except that the dial can't be certified by the technician due to limited resources thus needs to be sent to Switzerland for second opinion. Is that something that I should pursue? Or just leave it be

To me, it would boil down to what it's gonna cost and how long it's gonna be gone.

Just found that it could take months and even then they would not have the correct dial which is the gilt dials in stock. Furthermore the technician's comment that my watch is from the 50's (to my knowledge Rolex had a reset in serial number and 5513 started production in 1962) gives me little confidence in this particular RSC

That's a nice pre-65 case. Although dial is wrong, it is worth holding on to. You may find a correct dial before you die and that would make this a really exceptional piece!

Those end links are fake. 57 is upside down. Might want to look more closely at entire bracelet (not a huge deal overall, but a correct Rivet sub bracelet is easy worth over $1000 in decent condition).

Thx for pointing out. The dealer is pretty flexible. Will return the bracelet in exchange for some $

Good call. I gave it a closer look and the bracelet is, at best, a mix of different Rolex parts (Swiss clasp, USA made rivets, fake or altered USA end links). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have you been to Melbourne RSC to work out best approach, is an older piece and has done some hard living, but that wont stop a Rolex.
