Nothing like a Panerai
About 15 years ago, I was leafing through a Magazine and saw a model wearing a Panerai Radiomir. I had no idea at the time what it was, but I was absolutely smitten with this watch.
Fast forward, I have owned about a half dozen Panerai, and currently own 3. Panerai experienced some wild fanfare several years ago, and much of that has cooled. Many of the older classics are highly sought after, and prices have come back to a more realistic and obtainable level. I tend to not follow the pack, so for me, this recent softening of the market is just fine. I really would like to pick up some classics like a 009, 201A, etc etc Anyways, to this day, as much as I enjoy Rolex and many other brands, nothing gives the feeling of a Panerai. had many Pams since early 2000 when I bought my first Zero . . . mainly the historic models. Once you've had Pam nothing is ever quite the same again. Ever.

I own a Rolex SubC which I wear everyday it seems to stand up to daily use very well. I fancy adding a Panerai Luminor model to my small collection but when I see a photo's of one being worn they often seem very scratched, are they that much less robust than a Rolex as a daily wear watch?

After a 5 year hiatus from Panerai, I attended the Paneristi CLE GTG last weekend and met some great folks.
The Panerai rep brought some fantastic new watches that were on display. It is nice to see some of my favorite models are still in the lineup...000, 005, 380, 111, 112, 104, 24, 88, 90. |
