First Rolex - Preowned Air King 1990-2000

My first Rolex and thinking about buying a pre owned Air-King originally purchased July '97. Movement = 3000 / Ref# 14000. Mint with inner box and original papers asking $3000. Thoughts appreciated?

If that's what you really want, pull trigger. If not, save another $1200 or so and buy a pre-owned EXP or EXPII on this forum.

Thanks, I will check those out as well. I am not stuck on the Air King but thought it might be a good starter model that would keep its value pretty well.

I bought a 1973 air king in pristine condition off eBay for 2000$... I had it serviced by Rolex so it is real. It seems that price is high. The air, king is a gorgeous understated watch. The explorer is a better value. Like a 1990s explorer. Already said, above. I have an explorer as well and wear it every so,often. The air king is nicer,to me, but too small.

Not an Air King fan but if it is what you want, go for it. I would look at a Explorer, 36mm. It will be a lot easier to move should you decide that you want to trade or sell.
