I have to agree. The comparison is not necessarily fair.

You don't see car & driver comparing a Porsche to a maxima (which is a very nice car btw). But comparisons of the RR the Jeep AND the cayanne are all over the Internet.

Coming from someone that has driven both, the Range feels nicer. But marginally. The seats are nicer (mine is actually going in to put in leather instead of the racing suede it comes with) and you drive higher on the road.

Otherwise, it really is a very comparable car.

Up for an early workout and then hitting the road. Should be a fun day.
A side bar question: How do the seats work with your back? Are they comfortable enough to not fatigue your repaired back?

sorry but that Jeep looks crap and lacks 'class'

now dont get me wrong - i live in the UK and have had two Jeeps the best being a Grand Cherokee V8 petrol

BUT the prices in the UK made Jeep very expensive and supplies of spares were poor - i waited four months for a headlight!

Range Rover is in another class entirely to Jeep

it says style/elegance/sophistication

at least in the UK you would never be asked to park a RR at the rear of the hotel - the Jeep will go into the staff car park - honest but very true!

You're assuming the RR makes it to the hotel.

Congrats. Nice mix of power, luxury and all weather purpose.
Like the color and wheels.
How are the seats? Seat bottom extender? I need to drive one of these.

Great question. They actually do a super job with their interior, seats included. They are just not on par with the exceptional job Land Rover does.

The seats provide plenty of support. For the SRT they put suede so you don't move around too much on a spirited drive. I prefer leather so I'm just having the swap it out.

Couple of quick snaps. More to come later.

After about 4 hours of driving, first impressions.

Much smoother than my last SRT, less smooth and luxurious than the RR.

Extremely nimble and far better handling than RR. Much more comfortable navigating through traffic at high speeds as it drives much smaller.

More of a fire snorting monster, less of a refined beast.

I'm kind of trashy so it suits me better. Not poo pooing the RRS at all. Already I miss it. Wish I could have both. Maybe someday.

Love the look and color.

Met a potential new customer this morning. He was driving an RRS. I was thrilled to be in the jeep.

ha. well, my neck of the woods does tend to look worse than behind a hotel. and I have been behind my fair share of hotels...so I would know.

I think that poster is off somewhere looking for fine art. It appears he is looking for respect and prestige out of the things he buys..

I'm sad inside.

If your going to sell the Rover, why not sell to an exporter? You could have sold it for nearly 100k. In China and Vietnam they pay a huge premium for them.

That's why I mentioned the dealer was dying to get that in.

Great choice and looking good. And I KNOW the electronics (BT, stereo interface, etc) are 100% better.

Congrats and have fun!
