PRIVATE!! Rolex transcript from sales meeting 7 months ago.....
My AD showed the minutes from the annual sales meeting 7 months ago. Lets keep them private here-
DuFour: well boys lets get down to it! what are things looking like (yawn) Head of sales N America: well sir we are doing well on most models but our dealers are demanding more SS Daytonas and Skydwellers for their customers. DuFour: wait what? they are demanding!! The next dealer that demands anything- make them buy 100k of those new cases and mirrors we just designed and if they complain again then pull their line damnit! Exec #1: but sir, we.... DuFour: you shut up!!! who the hell drank my scotch? Head of Sales:sir, now might not be the best time to mention it but we have 28,500 units of the green Submariner in our inventory Exec #2: actually there another 10,000 units as well in our other facility DuFour: WHAT!! Why are we selling some many subs with the black and blue bezel and we cant give away the green? long pause...... Young exec: Mr DuFour, we don't have a submariner with a black and blue bezel. I think you are you referring to the GMT Master II one of which have a black and blue bezel, we call it the BLNR. its sales have been excellent! Exec #2 Whispers- tell Nancy to bring in the scotch quick... Head of Sales: sir, he mis-spoke but in regards to the green submariner we should.... DuFour: SILENCE!!!! Heres what we're doing! float a rumor that we are dropping that ugly green sub AND also float one that we are jacking up all the prices again on ALL units! Those morons in North America will be crawling in the dealers begging for that thing in 6 months. Also, stop supplying them with all the cheap stuff until we get rid of all the old stuff! that means no subs, no GRTs, that boat watch, all of em AND, AND, IF one more Daytona or Skydweller leaves this building, not one of you will see an 8 figure bonus, I swear it!! Exec #2- whispers- brilliance, absolute brilliance Exec #3- but sir in all do respect, our dealers have obligations to our customers and this cutback could have negative effects and..... DuFour: YOURE FIRED! Shut up and get out!!!! they are lucky to even be allowed to sell our pieces. They will get what we say they will get!!!! Head of Sales NA: Gentlemen, we have a job to do! Ill call the wearhouse and stop the current shipments and notify them of changes. Ill take care of the rumors, Ill start with that Rolex Forum and go from there. DuFour: well boys that should do it!! what time is out tee time by the way? oh, meeting adjourned......... |
