The yellow gold DD looks really good with a white dial also. Gives it some contrast. Getting a Hulk in the UK is akin to finding a buried treasure in the ocean. Lucky you, fantastic watch!

Congrats on a beautiful watch.
I think if I ever get a DD, it will be woth a champagne dial. That magnifies the YG in my opinion. Regardless, whatever you do, do NOT show her this thread: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=548729 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Most likely the AD was holding on to the LV waiting for a true buyer to offer it to and not a flipper.

Congrats on acquiring the LVc. Good luck getting the DD that sings to you. Personally I’d have to see it before I pulled the trigger on such a significant piece.

You can bang that thing around for a year and sell it without losing a dime.
Smart expense! Congratulations. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk

Great watch, and congrats. Great sale tactic though. Maybe he is so-so interested in a $$$$$ dollar watch, so offer him a $$$$ dollar watch and lets see if he bites. Yepa, fellas we got a shark on the line. NICE ONE

Thanks everyone, and I can update you we went back to the AD today and they offered a sweetened deal on the DD40. Overnight I changed my mind and decided it’s got to be the champagne stick dial as that’s the iconic look, so I can buy the one they have in store. I was worried it might be more of the style for an older gent, but having tried it on again today I think I can pull it off - and my fiancée said it looked great on me, so that’s my main critic taken care of haha.
Will take tonight to think about it and probably go down there tomorrow and pick it up if I don’t have a change of heart. It’s a wonderful watch - as is the hulk I’ve been enjoying all day! Exciting days, now better take care of the work emails that have been piling up whilst I was at the watch store ... |
