After reading the story, I'm more curious about in the rift within the 500 member Flat Earth community.

Is it like 250 of them think the Earth is flat while the other 250 think it's really, really, flat?

Just clicked the link and got trapped in the Youtube rabbit hole about it. It is interesting even though I don't believe it. And I too think this guy is going to kill himself.

While I believe landing on the moon was a hoax I disagree with the flat earth theory. There is so much that can only be explained by the earth being round. Time difference for example.

If you haven't already, you should watch a movie called, "Capricorn One." Interestingly enough, starring one Orenthal James Simpson.

....btw, round and spherical are two different things. "Flat Earthers" do believe the Earth to be round.

The USG couldn't keep it's deepest secrets safe - such as the NSA spying on every American - but you think 25,000 low level workers and civilian contractors could keep a hoax secret? While the Soviets were scrutinizing every move with one of the most sophisticated espionage systems in the world?

Really? You know we sent a probe there recently that took some great high resolution photos of the Apollo landing sites from low lunar orbit.

I’m curious, what makes you think the landings were a hoax. I’ve seen some of the “theories” presented by groups who believe as you do but they are all easily debunked.

https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/L...llo-sites.html

I visited Kennedy Space Center a few years ago and saw the Apollo exhibit. It is incredible, I highly recommend it. Amazing feat of engineering. There is no doubt in my mind that we put men on the moon.

Self-taught rocket scientist plans launch to test flat Earth theory

Aside from the fantastic link bait value for FB and Twitter reposts (and the precious ad revenue for click through ads) - he gets close to 100 points for nutjob of 2017

And while the Earth isn’t flat, let me use a gratuitous link meself in the spirit of Black Friday...The World Is Flat!

https://www.amazon.com/World-Flat-Hi.../dp/0374292884

Per Amazon, only 1 left in stock order soon...

Don’t believe that either

Capricorn One is the epicenter of the hoax movement. Your reply to a confessed hoaxer seemed to indicate concurrence. Apologies if I misinterpreted that.

No, I just suggested it since it was in his/her wheelhouse.

...and I was simply stating that round doesn't mean spherical. Before we tell someone that what they're saying is not true, it helps to know what they're saying.

Apologies for lumping you in on the hoax.

Is anybody arguing your second point? I was under the impression the earth was a little egg shaped.

100,000 people worked on the moon project, you really believe that they were either tricked themselves, or they all collectively agreed to keep a secret,

it's actually very disrespectful to suggest a hoax,

look up the video, where Aldrin decides he has had enough with that mouthy hoax activist, shouting in his face.

Well this should make their heads explode:

They are standing on the side of a roundish rock that is rotating around the sun at approx 1000 miles per hour.

Our sun and solar system move at about 500,000 miles per hour around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy.

There are approximately 10 trillion galaxies in the Universe.

There is a belief that there are multiple universes or multiverses and in fact the number may be infinite.

But if it makes them feel better to believe that the earth is a flat rock sitting on the back of a turtle... Well, if they believe it, it must be true. Such is the world we live in today.
