Any word yet on new Rolex’s this year? Curious what models come out.

Hoping for a lime green dial on the Oyster Perpetual as well as a all gold jubilee bracelet

Only Rolex knows and there’s usually enough bad information to negate any truthful leaks.

The start date is the 27th, not 23rd, of March 2023.

my experience on predictions is that they are normally WAYYYY off. Mostly obscure changes and minor updates followed by a curveball that no one predicted or wanted like the left hand GMT.

That's pretty much it.

Plus I will also add that a ratio of approx 9:1 of the membership here will initially complain that the minor changes are totally pointless, and how the new left-field pieces are totally unasked for and unwanted. Then within a few months the ratio will be circa 3:7 with more and more people now saying something like, "I dunno why but it's really growing on me", and then the "Congrats!" and "What an awesome piece!" posts will follow shortly after!

It's the same every year.

someone here has predicted a new daytona with new movement a few weeks ago, I think this is highly probable.
and I bet also the sd43 and pepsi will be discontinued.

I predict:
- More 'plant' dials on datejusts (see Palm tree)
- More two-tones no one wants (see Explorer)
- Reduced SS GMT production in an effort to reach Daytona hype!

They will never top the 126720 VTNR for unexpectedness and heart pounding desire it caused for so many, such as myself.

New dials are always fun to see, a small change that has such a tremendous impact and Rolex does them very, very well.

Can only guess the future at this point but the lead up the reveal is such an exciting time of year.

The analysis that the natch community did on the photo that Rolex provided was very impressive. If Rolex posts some tiny weird photos, then we will know.

The biggest kerfuffle I can remember in the past few years was the launch of the ceramic SS Pepsi. I don't think anything has surpassed that. This year, who knows? There's always a Coke coming, a bit like cracking fusion, it's always just around the corner.

I'm much happier getting involved in the chat about 'what will they release', over the 'what will get discontinued'...

What I would like to see (not what I believe will happen) would be:

- TT Explorer in Rose Gold
- Explorer with White Dial
- Blue/Green Subs going back to matching coloured dials.
- Coke GMT
- New colour variations in the OP


Fingers crossed a few of this come through at some stage over the next few years, but I won't hold my breath.

Even better than a TT RG Explorer: steel explorer w/RG gilt dial. YG would be fine, too, but I like RG in small amounts, and it would be different for Rolex.

Also, another prediction for the GMT is that one of two things happen (simply because "it makes sense"):

1. Goes back to matte center links on the Oyster.
2. Polished lugs on all.

I realized this morning that the GMT is the last Rolex to have PCL and brushed lugs; it's become quite uniform over the years.

Hoping it's the former, more likely the latter.

Regarding a Coke GMT, part of me wonders whether that will come with the next GMT movement update. Reason being, I seem to recall that the Coke was originally introduced to differentiate the GMT II from the GMT? Or was it something else? Either way, there was something it was used to "introduce" and create visual distinction from the rest of the line.

We will see a new/updated Daytona and a variation on the Submariner. A titanium Yachtmaster on a strap is pending.

Whether or not this happens, if there are any Daytona changes at all, at the very least I'd expect the case shapes to be uniform across the lineup, rather than some having the asymmetrical lugs as they do now.

I am predicting the SD43 to be discontinued with a new titanium model for the SD line. Keeps it on brand as a deep dive watch imo. We will see.

- the GMT uses the same case as the Submariner

- that the GMT is still using the “Maxi” / 11 series Submariner case

Since the Submariner has switched to the 41mm 12 series case … would it not make sense that the GMT would soon also change to the 41mm 12 series case ?

I don't know if they are exactly the same, but GMT didn't evolve the way the Sub did when the latter went 41. There are conflicting reports as to whether the lugs were slimmed a bit when GMT got new movement/model number.

What I've noticed, however, is that Rolex has done a complete 180 in recent years. It used to be that Rolex would use a common mid case for as many models as possible, but now it seems to be making the mid case dimensions pretty unique to each.

In the five-digit days, a common mid case (with some mods in some cases) was shared by:

40mm:
Sub
GMT
Exp II
SD
YM

36mm:
DJ
DD
Exp

34mm:
OPD
AK
OP

Today, even those listed as same dimensions are different in some substantial way (40: YM vs GMT; 36: Exp vs DJ/OP) and the Professional line now has no two watches sharing same mid case (though not sure if YM42/Exp II use same). This can only be deliberate and intentional for some reason.
