The clasp is indeed long and covers about 3/4 of the underside of my wrist.

Doesn’t feel overly large to me though. I hardly notice the clasp (and watch) because it is so light.

Probably because it was the last day of the month and the salesperson needed to hit her sales quota.

I was offered the discount right off the bat. Wasn’t expecting it at all.

Incoming: Tudor Pelagos 39

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It’s a great watch and cost just 1/3 of the SD43.

The value discrepancy was simply too large to justify keeping the SD43.

Tudor offered up plenty of fan service when they came up with the Pelagos 39.

Congrats OP. Man, a 20% discount on a sought after watch is pretty sweet. I got lucky with paying MSRP plus tax (6%) here in the northeast US. $4900 is still much better than MSRP for a SeaDweller!

I have been wearing my BB58 blue for a week.

It cost 1/4 the amount of my Submariner (pre owned BB58).

There is zero chance the Submariner is 4x the watch. Yes the bracelet is much better and you get a ceramic bezel but this BB58 is friggin amazing and per $1 is unbeatable. The Pelagos 39 in full titanium is another home friggin run from this brand. I like the fact that you can try on the entire catalog and see which models you prefer.

Once again, thank you everyone for the kind words.

These are my two dailies right now. Both great value buys especially if you pick them up pre-owned.

It’ll be hard to go back to the SM GMT now because of the sheer comfort of the Pelagos 39. Titanium really is the way to go.

I came to that same conclusion.

I’ll be the first to admit that it’s hard to beat the luxury appeal of a Rolex, the brand is associated with mass market luxury, after all.

The ceramic bezel on my SD43 is polished to a shine, and the dial is also a little more sparkly. Bezel action is more refined. But that’s about it.

The Pelagos 39 certainly isn’t lacking in the bracelet department.

I just couldn’t square the thought of paying 3-4 times more for not a lot more watch.

The value proposition of Tudor’s offerings has really grown.

I can’t wait to add the new BB burgundy bezel on jubilee bracelet to my collection.

Thank you. I’d do the same too.

The new titanium yacht master looks and feels less luxurious with the black bezel and darker shade of titanium.

No longer feels like the luxury yachting watch that it was originally made out to be. In fact, it looks a lot more tool-ish than the older SS yacht masters.

From a value perspective, it is already a stretch paying MSRP for a Rolex diver watch, let alone the TI yacht master.

The clasp is not too long or large especially when you consider it’s holding a diver extension within it. The clasp is 45 mm versus my Rolex 116520 at 40 mm. The lug to lugs is about 47 mm. Long to me is anything that is longer than the case. The actual cover on both are 40 mm. The extra Pelagos 39 length is in the clasp closure.

The Daytona is actually a short clasp relative to many Rolex sport models.. So no the Pelagos 39 is not too long, it’s extremely comfortable and easily adjusted. Overall it’s more comfortable than any Rolex model that I’ve ever worn. The only drawback to the watch that I found is since I purchased it and really haven’t worn anything else, so now I have a Watches sitting in a box .

Send me that Daytona I’ll give it some wrist time!

I feel your pain. Since buying my BB58 I really like wearing it as well.

I just tried this watch on and was surprised by how visible the sunburst effect was on the dial. May have been the strong lighting they use in ADs though

Likewise. Feels like I’ve put my other watches out to pasture.
