If Only One

If you would choice to only own one watch from these options, let me know which one. Going somewhere with this, but would really appreciate the feedback!

Black Submariner - Date 126110LN has always been my universal watch. I have owned literally dozens of Rolex watches and always viewed the Sub-Date in some iteration as baseline. The collection starts from there and grows, or not.

I know that is my feeling as well, but I kinda like the look of the no-date just a bit more, but the sub date is so similar + you get the date/cyclops.

I voted for the black Submariner Date. A few years ago I would have voted for the no-date version, but after having the date as my daily wearer, I often find myself using that function. It’s also pretty versatile and, well, just about perfect.

Definitely the GMT. Covers a lot of bases IMO

LV is my one and only. All black sub (date or not) is classic and beautiful but run of the mill.

IMO, LV is just unique enough with the pop of green without sacrificing versatility. I’m sure majority will disagree but that is what I like about the hobby.

Well, I have to admit that the no-date does look more symmetrical and ever since they improved the old bracelet and clasp to the new style it is now a tougher choice. Pure symmetry over date/cyclops - many people choose the purer looks of the no date.

Right? Just enough difference but unique

There is a reason it is the most popular debate here.

I voted BLNR, but with caveat one gets the Oyster too. So you can kind of “cheat” by having 2 watches in 1, which is nice if this will be the only watch. Also because I think the BLNR even on Oyster dresses up better than the Sub due to PCLs but remains just as sporty, so it’s a tad more versatile. Finally, you can kind of time things with the GMT bezel plus you actually have the added functionality of the GMT movement.

Can’t argue with this either!

Voted 124060 because at this level of watch, it’s ALL about the looks and timelessness. Looks—I love the symmetry. Timelessness is the all black classic design. I understand the wish for color…but I’m not sure 10 years from now, the green bezel of the LV or the black/ blue of the BLNR will have aged well.

Having said that, the blue/red combo of the BLRO doesn’t factor into my thinking this way…simply because I know the Pepsi is the original GMT. LOL

BLNR for me. I prefer the GMT over the Sub. Better fit on my wrist.

That's interesting. Can you elaborate on that? Just for curiosity sake.

I used to think this as well when comparing something like a 116710 to a 116610 Sub. GMT wore much much better...but nowadays, I think even the 12 series Subs wear better than even a 116710, which I thought was the best wearing sports model ever till I tried on a 12 series Sub.

I know here you're going with this ... just add it already

I'd take the Submairner, pure as it gets and unique as there's only one configuration

I don’t think I even know my own opinion on this. I can’t stop arguing with myself - Must be going mad. If you add the Explorer II to your list and put the BLNR onto oyster, that’s basically the 5 watches I’d have top of my options list for a single watch.

We're each entitled to like what we like. I find the green much more attractive then the Black or the Blue Black.

I actually have grown to like green and black more than blue and black, which is shocking to me.

126610LN. I really wanted a BLNR, AD only offered a black Sub of my choice, I was a bit bummed at first but am glad I didn't get a GMT. The all black bezel is perfect and I don't like polished links. One and done Rolex for me (hopefully).
