Saving "Sent Messages"

Quick question: I sent a PM to a guy about a possible trade on a watch. I don't have that sent PM in my "sent messages" file. Do I have to tick a box to save them or something? I thought they would be stored automatically.

Thanks.

I'm sorry. I went to User CP and could not find any box to tick. Clicked on private messages, and nothing to set a preference. Am I missing something? Sorry, not trying to be difficult, and I do appreciate your help.
