Icon9 August 1 - price hike!

it's been reported on other forums, so, just thought i'd spread the news here that august 1st is bringing a price hike of 9% in the U.S. and 5% in the EU. from what's been said, the increase is not across the entire range, though.

Thanks for the info, and for the proposed price list. How often does Panerai usually raise their prices?

when I see the price of the following watches

000
005
380

I dare to say Panerai is a bargain

Also those Boutique luminors with pig dial are a bargain

A Rolex sub costs today more than 6300 euro, you can have a luminor 005 and a Radiomir 380 for that price

My choice would be very easy

about 10 years ago the Panerai with 3 hands was yours for about 2500 euro, a sub would have cost you 3400 euro

When I look at the price today I can conclude only 1 thing
Rolex is too expensive or Panerai is a bargain

I have both and I like both but the fact is that with 3K you can buy a hell of a Panerai and you have to double your budget if you want a Rolex

I completely agree. I recently bought a 380. You get a lot of watch for 2,900 euros. Panerai could easily charge the same for 380 and 210.

The zero is also still a bargain. Again I bought a zero a couple of years ago for 2,900 euros and couldn't believe Panerai were still selling a watch for this price.

I personally think this is a positive effort by Panerai to offer for sale an affordable watch, as they could easily sell the zero, five and 380 for more and people would still buy them. They deserve some credit for this.

Glad I bought a new 312 2 weeks ago. My 312 has just gone up more than the stock market has.

That is exactly what I mean, if they would make these 3 watches 20 or 30% more expensive, they wouldn't sell one less

If They're not listed in here, then these boutique edt should be in the safe zone.

a little OT, but, i got bored and started checking out the 2011 SEs....decided i kinda liked the 376.....went to the chart above and saw the price. €19,900!

i know, i know, SE + white gold + 47mm + in-house....but, double the price of the 346?

maybe panerai got hip to the love given the previous calis?

oh well, back to the real world.

all their precious metals as just crazy priced...granted now they have an in-house movement...imagine the PAM262 back in 2006?

The new Rad PAM373 that is awesome..but hopefully in a few years the SS version...

Will the new price hike come along with inhouse implementations on basic models such as 000 and so on?

It seems like 000,005, 111,112 will increase as well. this is what has been told to me from an AD.

damn. i need to get one fast, if not its going to be a pre-owned for me.

thinking now to get the 005 because its cheaper then the 111. but i love me a sandwich dial!

This is where Panerai is doing an excellent job. All of us know how when you have bought 1 Panerai it just isn't enough. By keeping the base models at an attainable price it will constantly keep introducing new people to the brand and then those people will want either more base or will trade up for the SE's and the in house movements!! Very clever I think. Well done Panerai.

How will the price increase affect pre-owned pieces, ie, 351 which I want to get ? :)

As retail goes up, so does used market. Maybe not to exact percentage, but I know a lot of people were holding on to their pre-owned PAM's until price increase takes effect Monday.
