OCD-issues with Bezel
Anyone else experiencing OCD-issues when looking at the notches not perfectly aligning on the Bezel?
One would think that Rolex would nail this one, but my experience is that it’s completely random whether or not your notches on the bezel are aligned correctly. Have seen a dozen of Seikos getting this right, same goes for my DeepBlue Daynight. My own hulk lines up 90% perfect, but look at the attached image - this image is used by Rolex themselves on their website Not hating Rolex for this, but I thought we could expect near impeccable work from such a watchmaker. EDIT: Please post photos of your own Rolex and how it lines up. |

I have seen, and can well understand, many complaints about the triangle not lining up with the dial, but this is the first time I'm seeing anyone concerned about insert alignment with the bezel notches. Not an issue, IMO.

Doesn't bother me a lot, but my point being that if it's a simple solution for QC at Rolex, why not spend the extra calorie on getting it right? Things that potentially can be adjusted to create symmetry should, in my opinion, always be mounted symmetrical.

Unfortunately the two ceramic pieces that I have are both affected by this issue. I bought my 114060 used over a year ago, and at first it really, really bothered me and I contacted the service centre in regards to having it fixed under warranty but I then had second thoughts about being without a watch that I had just purchased for an undefined amount of time. I purchased a new BLNR 3 weeks ago and it too has the exact same issue, I thought to myself here we go again....but in all honesty it doesn't bother me.
I used to have real OCD issues with keeping everything looking pristine but having 4 young children has thankfully beaten that out of me now. Both will get fixed when they go in for their first service, whenever that may be. |

OP - you are looking at a massively magnified image. Under normal everyday conditions the bezel notches are so small one can hardly see them in any great detail let alone see that they aren't in line with the 12 o'clock triangle and bezel pip. They are just a machined edge designed to give grip only and it's not 'a thing' that they should line up with anything. I thought I was a bit OCD but this is next level stuff... Seriously, just enjoy your watch - it's fine and not faulty.. Cheers Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Ummm, okay. It isn’t an issue on any of my pieces as they are perfect but honestly I have never looked at something with that level of detail.

I am critical of fit and finish. As long as the triangle lines up, the watch is 100% perfect by my standards.

Fit and finish doesnt fit price point. Then your suggested to over look it and not pay attention to the way their advertised.

Oh believe me, I do enjoy my watch. Alot!
Just saying I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Seiko makes their Bezel symmetrical. I know that the image is magnified, and I totally agree that the alignment of the triangle is most important. The thread was simply an attempt to find people just as ill as myself, which I obviously failed to do Regarding the 9-position, I think this is due to the angle of the camera when taking the picture. The position is exactly like on the 3-position. |

Mine appears pretty much spot on. Certainly not "off" enough to make me worry in the slightest about it
(my winding crown on the other hand is enough to make someone with acute OCD suicidal.....)

I have never even thought about this before after owning many Rolex sport watches over the decades. I honestly think that I could not enjoy wearing a nice watch if something like this bothered me. What do you do about scratches?

That would not bother me at all and I’m sure I wouldn’t notice it at all.
The more important question is should it line with the “peak” of the notch or with the bottom of the notch.. the bottom of the “V” ? |

Don't worry about it, it's not an issue. I'll bet its not even a tick box on the Rolex QA checklist at final assembly.

I used to be like that.
When I reached my 40's (now I'm knockin' on 60's door), and my eyesight has deteriorated without my readers on, I have let it all go. Ahhhh, free at last. |
