Genuine Panerai 005?
Hey guys,
I know this is a Rolex forum, but just want to seek your expertise. My colleague is selling his genuine Panerai 005. I just want to make sure if it's legit.. Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks! |

I posted this in your watchout thread, but it's good info for the community at large:
I'd want to see the movement. Removing the caseback is pretty easy google "sticky ball case back removal" or "duct tape case back removal." The lume looks good and the canon pin looks correct at least, so if it's a fake it's a good one/Frankenstein. The major things to look for are going to be: - Removed at Member's Request - All of that said...NONE OF THIS IS DEFINITIVE. BUY THE SELLER NOT THE WATCH. People have gotten incredibly good at faking Panerais. All of the above can be fixed by talented modders/machinists. I would get it authenticated/valued by a reputable watchsmith. You need to do it for your insurance rider anyway. Last edited by KVG; 12 July 2017 at 05:57 AM.. Reason: recommended by another member that it's likely more damaging than helpful to post the "tells" on fake panerais |
