Still waiting on a stainless ceramic Daytona...
...so I got the white gold instead.
Oh boy, was that the right call. Incoming below. I've got to say, the WG Daytona on Oysterflex is the perfect juxtaposition of old and new. It embodies everything that made the classic Daytona a smashing hit and wrapped it up into a 21st century package. The weighting and fit of this watch is absolutely perfect - it's heavier than one might imagine. It literally fit my 7" wrist perfectly right out of the display case with no adjustment. The OysterFlex bracelet is the most comfortable Rolex bracelet I've ever worn, hands down. And the dial...oh man. Quite possibly the best modern Daytona dial to date. It can vary from silver to a more gold hue, depending on the lighting. The black panda subdials and ceramic bezel create the perfect contrast to the light dial. Also, even though this watch is gold, it is so extremely versatile. You really don't need to worry about scratching the bezel or bracelet, which leaves just a few surface areas exposed. This seems like a go anywhere, do anything daily wearer...and that's exactly how I plan to wear it. Also, as an aside, the AD confirmed the discontinuation of the WG Pepsi GMT and said stainless sports models are no longer available for custom order and are arriving in much more limited quantities. (I know this is already known to most, but this is straight from the horse's mouth). |

Thank you very much. Yes, got it at Tiny Jewel Box. I just happened to be in the area and stopped by. They said it came in yesterday and was the second they've seen. That was all I needed to hear for the credit card to come out

Awesome looking Daytona. I'm not really a fan of straps, but it just works with that watch. I firmly believe that a WG bracelet would detract from that look of this model.
Congratulations!!! |

You know, I'm not really either. I didn't even really think of the strap all that much when considering the watch, it just works perfectly with the bezel and subdials. I agree, I can't imagine this on a WG bracelet. |

The WG Daytona on Oysterflex is very beautiful, very nice choice. Congrats on your new purchase. It looks amazing. The strap works perfectly with the bezel and subdials and you do not need to worry about scratching the bracelet, works really well.

Yeah this is the nicest one out of the three released last year! Actually I think it's the nicest one out of all the Oysterflex Daytonas. Gorgeous dial. Would be really killer if they ever released this on a WG bracelet with ceramic bezel. They produce it with the regular WG bezel.

I think the WG/YG/RG Daytona with a ceramic bezel and gold bracelet is a prime contender for release this year. |

Thanks a lot. They really do look entirely different. I prefer this to a white dial 116500 to contrast my 16520. I can see both getting decent wrist time.

Congratulations on a beautiful piece.
As for the discontinuation of the WG Pepsi GMT take it for a grain of salt. Even the AD's don't know what Rolex's true intentions are until an official announcement is made. |
