Panerai Strap thickness

How thick should a strap be for a panerai? I'm shopping for a strap for my pam510. How thick is the strap that came with the watch? I'm basically looking for the same strap except in brown instead of black.

All depends on what you like, I have a few ammo straps that are a bit thicker than oem but wear a few oem ones as well.

Personal preference in the end

I definitely understand that it's personal preference. However, how thick are the oem straps that the watches come with? There are so many manufacturers out there. I just want to get an idea of what it comes with as a reference point.

Are there any non-custom online retailers that anyone recommends?

OEM straps are on the thinner side, especially the gators.

I don't have an exact measurement, but under 2 mm is a safe guestimate.

Anyway, contact a reputable aftermarket strapmaker and they should be able to help you get exactly what you want.

Get whatever you life. Some straps are super thick. I've never gotten one that was thinker than I expected. 2-3mm is a good range.

You're out of space.

Are there any online vendors that you like? There is such a variety out there and it's tough to judge quality through the pictures. I got one from strapped for time and it's not very good. I was surprised because I've gotten stuff from them before without a problem.

By the way, is that a Rad reference?

Hi, sorry, I deleted some messages. Thanks for the heads up.

Maybe start with one of these 3?

* Micah at vintagerstraps
* Greg Stevens
* John at dangerous9 (he will definitely be able to do anything you want, but it will cost you and it will take time...but it's worth it)

I'll check them out. Has anybody tried Tcstraps.com or panatime.com?

My first Ammo strap seems really thick on the buckle side. It seems to overwhelm how my radiomir lays pretty flat on top but I have 1/2" of buckle and leather hanging out below. It just doesn't seem balanced. It's new so maybe it needs to break in. THis is my first aftermarket strap and I'm thinking I need something more like the <3MM thickness of the OEM on my 7" wrist.

Didn't your 510 come with the strap? Measure that. 0EM straps are definitely on the thinner side, and they don't seem to break in and become as comfortable as aftermarket straps. I prefer them for a dressy look such as gators, but if you're looking for leather go with one of the newer OEM styles such as the Ranger. Very nice

You can get a quality strap at a good price at Panatime. I own many. The Panerai buckles complete the look but are expensive.
