To be frank, for the past years I visit Japan...these watches are plentiful in ADs, grey market shops, and I've even seen them at boutiques. I was just there in late July/early August and also saw plenty for sale.

This is one of my favourite speedmasters. Plenty are found in Asia for sale and some come up in the North American market once in a while. Also modestly priced in my opinion.

I've only recently started looking into Speedmasters. Their history and evolution (check out the Hodinkee Reference Points video clip on YouTube on the lineage of Speedmasters).
I was BIG fan of Tintin growing up, so getting this would bring back a lot of childhood memories. Plus, the other racing dial (3570.40) is getting too difficult to find and too expensive to buy. |
