You're probably right. A chair complete w/ headrest is worth much more than without and headrests are hard to find. But the search is always fun.

Not sure about Kock, but my orange Koken has some info printed under the lift up seat. In fact, the manufacture date is printed there [NOVEMBER 27, 1959] and it was the exact same date that I bought the chair. There might also be a serial or model # on the hydraulic cover fitted over the pedestal, under the seat.

My bro-in-law has 2 chairs similar to yours.
