6K SS Daytona...

Went to Tourneau today on Long Island, NY - while looking at a Datejust (mid size) with diamond dial for my girlfriend, the rep says that a guy came in last week with his SS Daytona traded it in on an ORIS!

They gave him 6k... They said it was in nice shape but, needed polished...

I'd like to have known that guy was coming in and met him outside to do a little business...

Normally dealers will offer half of the selling price. Guess that they are going to list it for 12k.

More than that. I once saw a skinny hands black dial at the local Tourneau with a price of $14,995 or something close to that.

I guess that is how they making money. Just over a week ago, I was window shopping at a brand new store that just open recently at Royal Hawaiin shopping center in Waikiki. Then, I notice a SS Daytona with a white dial at the used watch conner. I went in and ask to take a look at it. I could not belive my ear when the sell rep told me the price of $15999 and he told me that it was a 2005 model. I didn't care to ask if it was a used or unworn before I walked away.

i doubt it will see a case... probably refurb and then some GM will call a client.

at 9200 msrp - I'll take a stab at 85000 +

Question - can an AD sell a preowned for more than MSRP current on the new model?

if so 9500

I remember a visit to an AD about 3 yrs ago and he showed me their trade in price list and the Daytona had a higher trade in value than MSRP. So I guess the answer is YES!

It was xmas 2007 we were at the Galleria (Dallas), was looking for a watch winder. At the T shop, the saleman point out they have a SS Daytona same as mine but white dial. Of course I was curious but...

1. Watch locked in safe, could not be seen until next day.
2. $16K was price tag

Forgot about the winder...walk out with a smile on my face.
