Yes, it is.

Just buy something everytime you walk in.

As you buy more and more things during each visit, the line ahead of you shortens.

So my question is how likely I can walk in a Toronto AD and ask them to put me in line for the new 126500 with no prior purchase history. Will I be ignored? I have no interest in purchasing other watches that I don't intend to own or resell it just to purchase the daytona.

I once heard from a Toronto real estate friend that most daytonas are purchased up by real estate agents in Toronto to entice potential house buyers to buy units from these real estate agents because they can guarantee they can let the buyers buy the daytona at msrp. I am just curious if anyone has any success story to buy a daytona at msrp.

The intro of a “new” SS Daytona got me to thinking. My latest 116500 was my third SS Professional watch bought from my current AD/Boutique. My spend history was just a fraction of what many people here throw out as a neccessary threshold for a steel Daytona, I truly believe it was my overall rapport with a longtime SA and the store staff that got me one, no real hoops to jump through. That said I ponder if I only earned one from this dealer, I suspect I would be politely told to ask for something else if I wanted another.
All this to say to the OP, if you have no connection to anyone in the AD other than being a walk-in, I’d say zero chance of a SS Daytona as a first purchase.

I managed to bundle a White Daytona with a 36mm Day Date at Raffi Yorkville, bought both for full face value at a time where Day-Dates generally received a discount. This was 2018, now that even Day-Dates don't trade at a discount, I think you'd need to buy two or more gold Omegas to get the same deal.

It doesn't hurt to ask them how you would be able to source one there though.

With the amount of dispensible income in Vancouver and Toronto, there is NO CHANCE anyone gets a SS watch without a relationship or history.

In Vancouver, I have literally seen people walk in and buy PM stuff as if its pizza.

Like one in a million chance, but hey, it’s a chance!

I’ve had a relationship of a few years with my AD. I cannot even allocate a regular Submariner as of late.

OP, you might be the perfect candidate for someone like DavidSW. One and done, be happy and don’t look back. There’s simply no chance to acquire that watch without a significant purchase history yet.

realistically 0% chance of success - but you will never know unless you ask - looking at my realtors watch is the last thing I do when I choose to work with one.

Drop $250k on jewelry and you'll have it by summer. Hopefully.

You have a much better chance buying lotto tickets a winning. Then you can buy 1 at gray prices with the winnings :)

Whenever I read words to this effect it makes me laugh.

People act like MRSP is sacrosanct when the item in question has a market value greater than retail.

I hope the devotion to MRSP extends to a revulsion of discounts too

Jokes aside, I’d save the trip to the AD. You are never getting one based on your conditions.
