Citizen "Eagle 7" Inheritance

Hey Guys

Just looking for some advise. Last year my grandfather passed away, and his citizen watch, which I am guessing he wore for years has been passed onto me. I know this isn't high end luxury, but the watch does naturally hold sentimental value.

My grandfather passed away in around mid 2017, and was in ill health for several months prior to that. I am guessing this watch has not been worn in over 2 years. It had a lot of grit and dirt, so I gave it a soap hot water wash with a tooth brush yesterday, the water resistance stood up just fine. I wound this watch up, and have it wore it since (barring the 7 hours I was asleep), the accuracy in the last 24 hours has been -6 seconds. The lume is excellent on this watch and it actually lasted the full night.

So now to my questions (pictures are attached):-

1- Will anyone know approximately from which year this watch is from? The case back is engraved with "citizen watch co WATER RESIST ST.STEEL 4-R17303RC 880564 GN-4W-S".

2- As the watch has been off for over 2 years, and I have just started running it again, and I am guessing it has never been serviced. Will this be due a service? If so, any places in UK, around Manchester anyone can recommend?

3- The jubilee bracelet as can be seen from the pics is really badly stretched, again anyone have any idea where I can get this sorted from? Ideally around the north west.

880564 is the serial number. The second 8 signifies August and the first 8 signifies 2008, 1998, 1988 or whichever decade the watch was made. Knowing when the watch was purchased will narrow this down.

Wear it for a few weeks and let the movement settle back in to a regular routine. Then see how it keeps time.

Bracelet looks ok.

Hi, thank you for this, very informative. I have no idea when he would have purchased this. Do you have any idea when this model would be from?

If I had to guess I'd say 1988, but could be '98 or even 08. I'm not really that familiar with Citizen.
