A nice reliable glass from one of my favorites, no names tonight in the spirit of appreciation of what this thread's all about.

Call me a heathen, but I buy Oak Grove Viognier by the case. My wife likes very minerally chard, and I dont... so this was a compromise when it comes to whites.

It pairs well with the typical cheeses we eat every Thursday, which is Wine and Cheese Night for us. Humboldt Fog and Purple Haze being two of our go-to goat cheeses.

Costco upping their game. They already carry amazing wines but this is nuts.

Oh my! Wish my Costco was like that, we get at most some Isosceles and a few others under $70.

You guys should check out the Costcos near the nosebleed priced real estate areas here in the SF Bay Area. I was at the Mountain View location a couple days ago, and they had a mixed pack of DRC and an '82 Petrus in locked cases on the sales floor.

Unfortunately, the location nearest to me may have the poorest selection of wines of any Costco in the area.

I was given this bottle from Peter (Swatty) when he was in from Australia a few weeks ago. Looking forward to drinking it.

Penfolds makes some good juice for sure. Always very consistent. Penfolds Grange is SPECTACULAR.

Still young but since it’s a blend, very approachable.

2013 Rombauer Cabernet Sauvignon tonight, more approachable than I thought it'd be and drinking well, can't wait until the others age a bit more.

Are you moving? If so, far away or staying in same the general area?

I am not the best packer, but I am pretty strong. Get another lineup like that and I will carry all the boxes!

I was in Napa recently and had the chance to taste Promotory, both 2008 and 2012. Looked up the price today, $1,500 and $600 per bottle respectively.

Had I known that, I would have tasted a bit more carefully.

The Rombauer from the other night along with tonight and tommorrow's glass thanks to the Coravin my neighbor bought for me (long story behind that). I'm surprised on how approachable the Mt. Veeder is, I may have to rotate this into the weekly openings. Similar to a basic Justin Cab but with more floral notes right off the opening. I can easliy see family members getting this from me as a housewarming wine.

Bought a half case of 2006 Zinfandel from
Macleod Family Vineyards. We are wine club members and they were offering up to 2007 from their personal library at the Sonoma pick up party. A friend who is local to them told me about this and I inquired. I was told that the 2007 was no longer being offered, but I could get some 2006 instead. I’m going to let them sit for a week or so before I crack one open to avoid bottle shock. This not expensive cult stuff, but it’s great for daily drinking.

We tried that several months back - I think ours might have been a 12 - quite good for the price point.

Enjoy my friend.

Cheers my friend! You’re right, for the price point it’s not bad at all. It has a very nice finish and the wife liked it, so that always helps. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Dinner at Morton's with my 9yo daughter, needed perk up cause I had a feeling the Dodgers wouldn't be able to pull it off tonight.

45 minutes out this picked up like a Ferrari full speed on a flat road but 2 hours in it felt like dating in your mid 30's. Not bad, just meeting your high expectations kind of end result. At least I got to pair it with a 6 week dry aged New York aged steak and some chocolate cake with ripe raspberries. My little one was surprising all the sommeliers by asking them questions on which Napa cult cabs were their favorites and why. Her favorite is the 09 Dominus but I think that's skewed because it's her birth year wine ( a pretty great one though).
