Sub date...would it be blasphemy to put it on nato?
Still in honeymoon since I picked this up from my AD 2 weeks ago...
Not sure how hard it is to remove the bracelet but I'm toying with the idea of putting this on a 22mm nato strap.....my 'beater' is a Turtle and its really comfy on the nato strap. But I do know Rolex usually has lower spring bar holes on the case so the look may not be so flush. I've seen some images of the sub on leather strap and it looks hideous with the wide lug gap... Cheers ! |

Your watch, your choice. I think it'll look pretty good on a NATO.

Definitely not. It looks beautiful with the SS bracelet. I wouldn't put a regular strap on it at all, but, it is YOUR watch. It's ultimately up to you.

I think the older 4 and 5 digit ones look better on NATO than the newer ones, they are just more substantial and don't seem to balance well on a NATO but give it a shot and let us know what you think.

Turtle is a rounded, streamlined case that works well with a nato, while the Sub is more angular with sharp edges and the nato just looks more like a temporary fix while you're waiting for a bracelet. I wouldn't do it.

OP: As a NATO appreciator & 6-digit Sub owner, I would not combine the two. I wouldn't say the 6-digit ones are significantly chunkier than the 4 or 5-digit models, but it's big enough that I feel it would be very "top heavy."

I wear my sub almost exclusively on straps. More comfortable. I vote yes but I’d go for a proper 21mm sizing.

I don't usually disagree with Adam, and this time is no exception.

I put mine on natos all the time. I use 20mm since I had a ton of them from other watches and the gap isn’t that big at all. Best tip for taking off the oyster is drop the cash for the horofix spring bar tweezers. The ergonomic tips are a game changer

If it's your watch you can do what you like with it. Subs on NATOs have been a common sight down the years.

If you think it looks better on a Nato, go for it.
Personally, I think they look like crap compared to the original bracelet. |

Not a fan of these, I tried one in the past, it started to smell after it got wet a few times.

I think the six digit Submariners look the best on the OEM bracelet. The bracelet is amazing and the glide lock clasp may be the best in the industry. I like NATO straps and wear a few of my Tudor Black Bays on them and enjoy the look and the feel. The Tudors lend themselves more to the NATO's based on styling, in my opinion. I would leave it on the bracelet and enjoy it. I would get my NATO fix from my other watches like the Seiko you are showing. I also understand that any of us can do what we want with our property but that really isn't the point. Go swimming in a dress, who cares. But why ask if you are only going to circle around to "Do what you want", that is where you were to start with. Some members here have gotten into pat answers that do not address the original question. Respectfully provide an opinion.

Your watch! Do as you please. No reason to seek approval of others for it. It would probably look good based on a couple of the responses. Go for it

Delugs elastic. I put them on everything I can. Sizing is a bit tricky but they are cheap. You need to know the lug to lug of the watch and your wrist size.

It’s blasphemy to put nato on anything, let alone a sub.
I just don’t understand how a cheap piece of cloth can get a place here
