Surprise mini unicorn incoming: 5231G

Definitely didn’t see this coming, especially right after my Geneva trip admiring the various rare handcrafted and grand complications!

As I was typing my experience in Geneva on the other thread, I got a late night txt from AD telling to expect a call….

Here comes today… what a surprise! An enamel WT has been on my top wish list since 5 years ago and today, with the support from my AD, they applied and got me approved without me knowing. They waited until just yesterday to let me know. The G is my favourite version since 5131 as it shows Asia, and the ocean color with the white gold color just contrasts so well. Love the new off-center Patek Logo and the blue ocean color is so vivid!

Here comes a few pics, I especially enjoyed viewing the dial under the sun! Will be my Daily for a while!

Huge congrats mate ! The enamel dial is definitely a piece of artwork which you can’t just take your eyes off it!

I was also lucky enough to get a 5231J 2 months ago from my AD. Had a hard time to choose between J and G that I personally like yellow gold more as it matches well with the enamel, but I prefer the Asia and Australia map for the place I am living in now. Anyway I will be more than happy with allocation of either one.

I also attach some pictures for my beauty. Cheers

Huge congratulations! This is the only one Patek in the current catalogue which I am lusting after. But my AD told me he only gets a 5231 every 2-3 years so I have given up hope.

Wear it in good health!

Great looking watch and great story about your AD applying for the piece on your behalf without your knowing

The dial with only Asia and Australia is definitely different from previous enamel dial WTs.

Enjoy in good health

Does one need a pretty strong buying history to get the opportunity to get a cloisonné? How does that compare with perpetual chronographs?

I have purchased 14 Pateks from 1 AD but haven't received the enamel WT. I have recently gotten the 5270. The enamel WT is a proper unicorn.

Massive congrats, the WT is a stunner. How is the legibility against the enamel dial?

Have to say sometimes hard to read the time but I am not sure if it is because I am too busy admiring the dial or just hard to read ;)

Very fun to find out the time across the world using the WT function

I have other travel then pieces too but the WT give you a different way of old school gmt function

Loving the piece!

I have difficulty to read the time from my 5231J to be honest. It takes me much longer to read the time than other watches not because of the difficulties but it is only I couldn’t take my eyes off the beautiful enamel dial!
