Trade my 10 year old 5167 for a new 5164?
Hi all,
Been offered a trade for my 10 year old 5167 for a new 5164. I really like the TT complication. Do it or pass? Greg |

the price differential in the trade may be relevant for others to offer an opinion.
For me I would just keep the 67. The slimness of the 67 is non negotiable feature of the aquanaut imho.

Are you saying that it is a straight up trade?
If so, I’d do that in a heartbeat |

I like the dial and functionality of the 5164 compared to the 5167. So if I had the chance to trade my 5167R towards a 5164 or 5164R I'd definitely consider it.

Definitely plus the added gmt benefit of the 5164, prefer the dial and case layout to the 5164 as well. Home run IMO.

Cannot see why someone would do that trade straight up. An R, maybe. I have wanted an R for a long time and have a 5164A, no way I would even do that trade. If you are being offered a straight up trade 5167A for 5164A, YES DO IT. No brainer.

My bad - I should have said it is not an equitable trade and needs US$22k cash to make work.
I was more interested in whether I am chasing my own tail in doing it, but now realise it is hard to separate value from the discussion. Greg |

When was your 5167 serviced?

If the 5164A is fairly new, I think that's a fair trade and I'd do it. The difference in MSRP now is about $17k USD and the $5k difference should cover the fact that it is quite a bit older and will need service in the near future.

So a 10 year old never serviced 5167A + $22k cash and get a brand new 2022 5164A, for me I would definitely do this trade.

Thanks guys. This gives me a bit of confidence to do the deal. I might see if I can move the cash contribution a little closer to the market - the $5k premium seems a bit high.

Yep I have a 64R I dearly love. Usually is my favorite to travel with. I would offer 17-18500 max difference. That would be a great trade imo . Wish you the best , michael in San Antonio Tx.:—))
