Patek Discontinuing Rumors

Rumor that the 5168/A and 5170P are being discontinued. I can't imagine many 5168's where even made.

I'm not a huge fan of the 5168A. I'm more surprised about the 5968A rumor.

If 5968 cancelled it has to be a minor tweak with new very similar model like 3712/5712. To cool of a watch for me not to get one!

He probably meant the 5168g white gold blue dial 20th anniversary. I also agree that the 5168, 5170p and 5370p will be discontinued. People have also discussed a replacement to the 42mm aquanaut white gold being the only time only aquanaut and getting rid of the 5167 or traveltime. Some have also talked about the 5726 Annual calendar being discontinued (was not a great seller until late 2017 and throughout 2018).

Will be interesting to see what happens as we are under 2 months away

Patek will discontinue making all watches at this rate.

I bet many of these rumours are fake news so greys can pump and dump for a little bit.

The best part about reading these rumors is nobody ever mentions a source.

I’ve followed Patekaholic for awhile and he seems to know his stuff. I wouldn’t bet against him.

I like this thread because it doesn't mention anything about the discontinuation of 5726/1A.

I follow Patekaholic too. Previous years him and Patek Collector had given accurate information on discontinued models and new models. I can't see any post on 2019 discontinued models. I recall he briefly posted that 5968A being discontinued but it was quickly taken down. If the source was credible he may not have taken it down.

I have screenshot of his posts but not sure I’m allowed to share them. If accurate lots of models being discontinued.

Guys all of this is still hearsay at the moment - Patek have yet to issue an official list of discontinued models to their AD’s. Patekaholic does get it right but not all of the time especially when it comes to new release and discontinuations.

The 5170P is discontinued that’s now 100% true.
My PP told me there official production was from September 2017 - September 2018.

The 5168 & 5968 are not discontinued

My AD just got the discontinued list. 5170p is on it. 5968 and 5168 are not.

One year production cycle, I like! I've put a deposit on one, collecting in April. lets see how the secondary prices are affected.

Late Jan/Early Feb is when Patek let their ADs know of which models are being discontinued. Thats just how it is done. If it's not to your liking there's nothing anyone here can do to help.

5119 is a staple in the line. Hard to believe they would end unless a new movement is afoot.

I spoke to my AD this morning, at that time he had not received the discontinued list. He is expecting it some time this week. He said the same thing what Neil had mentioned about the 5968A

When ADs put in special orders they hear whether or not they can be obtained. Not always for discontinued reasons, sometimes the allocation for the year is over and no more will be made until the following year.

Secondary prices will remain strong at least for a couple of years.

It’s CONFIRMED. 5170P are discontinued. No more a rumor. This is what’s discontinued.
