5711/1R Possible Purchase

Hello, I have a chance to get a 5711/1R from my AD. I currently have a 5196 and 5164A. For those that have this watch do you enjoy it? Is it comfortable?

Thanks,

Allan

if you have the chance to go for it and you love it , take it

as im in a mischievous mood if you dont like it buy it anyways and flip it, its what many people on here would do,

but i wouldnt advise that , and i actually wouldnt do that either

As long as you feel you can comfortably wear it where you live, it is a lovely piece to own and enjoy. Best of luck with the acquisition if you elect to pursue it.

5711s are extremely comfortable. Grab it while you can.

Agree, 5980/1r is tops followed by the 5711/1r.

Buy buy buy

Ive wondered to myself if i would wear the 5711/1R since ive been uncomfortable wearing the 5980/1R

My gut was to buy the 5711/1R before my wife nudged me towards the 5980/1R.

If i were you Id buy it but it is a bright gold watch.

You still looking? They really are scarce.

OP I'd buy it, still my fave piece.

Yes it is comfortable, far more so than a gold Rolex, just have to hope the links fall well on you or you start under/over eating to make it fit.

Buy buy buy!

I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm never getting one at this rate...

Ooohh that's a great watch. Just a bit on the thinner side tho. I do feel the 5980 in full RG would be the way to go.

However, I'll take it from your AD LOLOL.

With the risk of stating the obvious - buy it only because YOU love it, don't fall for the hype and what other people think.

Why’s the 5980/1r not working out?

5711/1R is quite a dainty watch-it wears very light and comfortable.Im biased as it’s my favourite Patek.I like its simplicity-that should ensure its long term appeal for me.

1) Too heavy for daily wear,... its kind of uncomfortable heavy after a while + 2) its pretty in your face... (initially i thought no,...but lots of people asked)

i worry about walking around NYC with 100+k on the wrist especially since the ask is like 140k these days on the high end. Since i go through Penn station early in the morning and late at night... just feels a little uncomfortable.

The 5712r i have is light, and the leather strap tones the bling factor way down

Ah, makes sense. The 5712r is more under the radar.

Ok thank you for responses. I think I will go ahead. I buy watches and keep them. Still have my 1987 Sub/date I bought with my first bonus check, I remember paying $1150 cash at the dealer.

Cheers
