Unusual 5980/1AR TT Combo
Seeing this watch in pics I wasn’t sure about the combo of a RG TT and a dark blue dial. Yesterday I got to handle it at the AD and boy does this piece translate much differently in the metal.
The RG adds such a nice softness in the centerlinks and gives the brushed surface of the bezel a different depth than brushed SS. A very nicely executed piece! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Perhaps for additional context here, I’m new to the PP world. The unusual comment is directed at my collecting across AP and Rolex where I don’t know if a single TT model with this combo.

The blue dial on the 5980/1AR is also nicer than the "blue" dial on the 5980/1A. It is a deeper richer hue of blue. A nice watch for those who like two-tone watches.

I had a client who bought the 5980 1R and had me do a dial swap with his 5980 1AR……
It was sublime…. And I didn’t even take pic |
