5167 or 5168 ?

Thinking of adding one of these references. Not sure which one to go for. Current Patek include 5711, 5524, 5960. Which one would make the better addition to the collection? Why choose one over the other ? Any views much appreciated.

Already have 5524 and hope to add 5990 at some point so didn't really think about 5164

Both 5167 (assuming it is a 5167A) and 5168G are great watches and both are not readily available. 5168 has more wrist presence than the 5167A. I would get the one that comes in first and if you didn't like the watch, you can move it very easily.

anyone know just how much bigger the 5168g wears over the 5164r?

My buddy's 5164a wears pretty small on my 7.75'' very flat wrist so I was hoping for a little better fit.

I should be able to find both on NIB on the grey market with a $10k premium on the 5168g and $1-2k premium on the 5164r.

Any suggestions? This will be my first patek. I prefer the WG vs RG in terms of flying under the radar. Also LOVE the blue dial but really also LOVE the travel time complication. 5164a is out as I want this to be a PM piece.

5168 if your wrist can pull it off....

Aquanaut look particularly bad if they are too big...

The 68 wears significantly bigger than the 64 so that will be best for you.

Assuming your 5711 is blue dial I would assume you like blue dials. Go for the 5168.

5167A is a classic. The 5168G is still new and we haven't seen a lot ot incomings or even AD sightings.

I would recommend the 5167A

This wrist is beast mode, 5168 would look awesome on it I’m guessing

Are we likley to see a larger 5167a or a steel variant of the 5168? Any trends in past history ?

They are much different from what I’ve seen. Myself I prefer the hue used on the 68.

I hope above pics will give u guys some idea - all references on the same wrist. Personally, i liked 5168g best - size is better.

I suspect Patek will release a larger SS Aquanaut within the next few years. The 5167A (40mm) has been in production for 10+ years now and the 5065A (38mm) was in production for close to 10 years before that.

I would definitely buy a 5168A blue dial if Patek releases one.

I would decide based on wrist size - if your wrist can pull off a 68, go for that (mine can’t and the 67 is a perfect size for me).

68 if you can get a hold of one. Otherwise I'd go 64 it's the best all around Aquanaut with a useful complication.
