It’s a blast. We took our daughter when she was 8 weeks old. I met Sir Jackie Stewart a couple years back.

This is the first year we are not attending, after a years of attending.

I will be there. I do the Porsche Werks reunion every year.

I am hoping next year, as its the 50th anniversary of the 917 there is a special marquee at Concours.

it's my 16th wedding anniversary this weekend. If we were to pull a last minute trip what do you/everyone recommend? Where to stay what to be able to get into (events/VIP etc?)

I think it would be hard to find a room at the last minute in Monterey or PG. San Jose or Salinas might be the best bet.

We had/have a couple places on the Peninsula that have been in the family for five generations. Every year, many of our neighbors rent their places for stupid money.

Rolex is a big sponsor at Pebble. What people, clients etc. are they inviting?
Is someone of you invited from Rolex?

I ended up in that area a few years ago by accident, was taking a trip to Carmel, Monterey, and San Francisco.

Was finally able to get a room at a motel which turned out to be the HQ of the Aston Martin club...was a pretty cool selection of cars, but we paid $500 for a motel room.

Always wanted to go and just moved to Bay Area so I may attend this year. Question though, is buying the general admission pass on the Concours website a necessity or is there a lot to do/see without gaining entry to the Pebble Beach official show?

Fourtane jewelers has their invite-only event the weekend after car week. I went last year, but will not be around this year. Pity. I was hoping to drive the new ride down... Nice vintage Rolex action.

Some year I also hope to meet one of our esteemed TRF members and owner of minus4plus6.com - Sheldon Smith - at Fourtanes.

That's a shame! Did you or anyone spot this?

I read an article on TMZ about the first drive and saw some Google results saying it was at this event.

Always a fun week up there. I will be at Quail, Concorso Italiano, Pebble Beach, and various auctions here and there between things.

IIRC, Hodinkee has had a meetup at Fourtane the last 2 years. Wonder if they have something planned this year. Lots of fantastic vintage pieces.

If you’re a McLaren F1 fan, there’s a few things worth noting this week. The F1GTR that won LeMans will be turning some laps at Laguna Seca over the weekend and RMSothebys will be displaying road car chassis #014 which is currently for sale. Price not listed but believed to be north of $20M. And chassis #036 which I’ve had the pleasure of viewing up close has been spotted driving around the area.
I consider the F1 to be the Concorde of automobiles(or maybe vice-versa).
